Thomas Tuchelโs side only conceded 24 goals in his first 50 games at Chelsea.
In his last 50 games however, Chelsea have conceded 54 in all competitions.
The defence is nowhere near good enough right now.
Itโs important to not just take this statistic for what it is and look into why this could be happening:
- Key players like Ruddier going who knew the systems like the back of their hands. Itโs not as simple as one player out, one in.
- The new centre backs will take time to settle, and not just in English football which is the case for Koulibaly. They will need to be adapting at times to Tuchelโs demands, as well as adapting and understanding their new teammates around them.
Itโs imperative that we start getting some clean sheets under our belts now. Tuchel has ben backed and has been given the defenders he has wanted, itโs time they start performing at the levels we know they are capable of too!
