I believe traditional Adire like Alarodudu remains one of the original indigenous dyeing styles native to Nigeria.
The introduction of colourful Kampala style fabrics later influenced the market and fashion trends, and over time, Nigerian artisans evolved Adire into the vibrant styles we see today.
So while the names are often mixed now, it’s beautiful to see how the craft has grown while still keeping its roots.
