What a wonderful day at Oktoberfest in Lovettsville, Virginia!

The House of Parliment Bank Building team had a fantastic time attending the event yesterday.

Founder Tammy Massie and the team especially enjoyed meeting so many people, sharing the vision for the historic House of Parliment Bank Building, and—most importantly—hearing your ideas and feedback. Every conversation helps as we work toward creating a welcoming community space for residents, visitors, cyclists, hikers, and others exploring the area.

A special thank you to Mayor Hornbaker and Vice Mayor Budnar for taking the time to stop by our booth and visit with us. We truly appreciated the opportunity to connect!

And thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, shared ideas, and offered encouragement We loved meeting you and are excited to keep the conversation going as the House of Parliment Bank Building moves toward its next chapter.

Happy 4th of July from the House of Parliment Bank building!

As America celebrates 250 years of independence, we’re reflecting on the past, present, and future of our own little corner at 113 West Potomac St. The former Peoples Bank is still under renovation, but every day brings us closer to opening our doors as a new kind of community hub (HUG) for outdoor lovers, local artisans, and even a few lucky rescue cats.

Named in honor of Dr. Thomas H. Parliment, this historic building is being carefully restored with a vision for the next generation. We want it to be a gathering place where people come together to share adventures, art, and community spirit — the very values that have shaped our country for two and a half centuries.

This week, as you watch the fireworks and think about all that’s happened over these 250 years, know that something new and meaningful is on its way right here in Maryland. We’re proud to be part of a tradition of growth and renewal, and we can’t wait to welcome you when the time is right.
