DAYS OF COVID-19 AND EXERCISE

In a lot of countries walking, biking and jogging are welcome activities in these times of COVID 19.

However, it is important to note that you need to avoid each other's slipstream when doing these activities. This comes out of the result of a study KU Leuven (Belgium) and TU Eindhoven ( Neitherlands) 2020.

The typical social distancing rule which many countries apply between 1 to 2 meters seems effective when you are standing still inside or even outside with low wind.
But when you go for a walk, run or bike ride you better be more careful.

When someone during a run breathes, sneezes or coughs, those particles stay behind in the air. The person running behind you in the so-called slipstream goes through this cloud of droplets.

The researchers came to this conclusion by simulating the occurrence of saliva particles of persons during movement (walking and running) and this from different positions (next to each other, diagonally behind each other and directly behind each other).

Normally this type of modelling is used to improve the performance level of athletes as staying in each other air stream is very effective.

But when looking at COVID-19 the recommendation is to stay out of the slipstream according to the research.

The results of the test are made visible in a number of animations and visuals.

The cloud of droplets left behind by a person is clearly visible.

People who sneeze or cough spread droplets with a bigger force, but also people who just breathe will leave particles behind.

The red dots on the image represent the biggest particles.

These create the highest chance of contamination but also fall down faster. But when running through that cloud they still can land on your clothing according to Professor Bert Blocken.

Out of the simulations, it appears that social distancing plays less of a role for 2 people in a low wind environment when running walking next to each other. The droplets land behind the duo.

When you are positioned diagonally behind each other the risk is also smaller to catch the droplets of the lead runner.

The risk of contamination is the biggest when people are just behind each other, in each other’s slipstream.

On the basis of these results the scientist advises that for walking the distance of people moving in the same direction in 1 line should be at least 4 to 5 meter, for running and slow biking it should be 10 meters and for hard biking at least 20 meters.

Also, when passing someone it is advised to already be in different lane at a considerable distance E.g. 20 meters for biking.

Perhaps the better way is just running in the street, on your own or at least with sufficient distance. Stay safe.

IF WE DON'T HAVE OUR HEALTH WHAT GOOD IS ANYTHING ELSE!!!

Think about your life for a moment and reflect on the times when you knew there was something you should have done, but you waited
too late.

Most of us as humans have developed the habit of reactive versus proactive.

Never could this be more true, than when it comes to our own personal health.

The Doctor gets paid a nice income to tell us to do things that we already know to do.

For example we know drink more water, get more exercise, get quality sleep, don't overeat and cut back on the calories.But....
Yet and still we do it anyways.
It's interesting how when we are younger,we think our whole life is in front of us, but now when we get older we look back at all the things we could have done differently.

One of the main areas of attention that I've really been focused on the past 60 days is my personal health.

In the process of doing so, I've been able to assist more than a few others in really giving attention to their health.

For example, do you or anyone that you know of live with high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, cancer, heart disease, Lupus,Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Multiple Sclerosi,HIV or anything else.

Where do those things come from and why are they so prevalent?

Did you know that most strokes could of potentially been alleviated, if people would of been more proactive with regards to their health.

Well, I'm not offering any miraculous cures or anything like that.
You recently a good friend of mine a couple of years younger than me had a stroke. Now he is unable to provide for his family like he did before and it was truly a wake up call.

In life we only get one vehicle (our bodies) to travel in from beginning to end, so surely we want to take the best care of it that we can If you would like to join myself and a few others on private workout sessions this Saturday.

RICH HEART RATHER THAN LOTS OF MONEY

Someone asked the richest man in the world, Bill Gates, “Is there anyone richer than you in the world ?”

Bill Gates replied, “Yes, there is a person who is richer than me.”

He then narrated a story.

“It was during the time when I wasn’t rich or famous.

“I was at the New York Airport when I saw a newspaper vendor.

“I wanted to buy one newspaper but found that I didn’t have enough change. So I left the idea of buying and returned it to the vendor.
