*Kogi State Table Tennis Association Set To Lighten Up Lokoja With Independence Day Championship*

*...........Winners To Go Home With Mouth Watering Prizes*

Kogi State State Table Tennis Association has concluded necessary arrangements for a table tennis competition in Lokoja to be held on 30th September and 1st October 2025 at the table tennis hall of the popular Phase Two Sports Centre, Lokoja.

The competition, which is sponsored by the Chairman Kogi State Table Tennis Association Dr. Shaibu D Mohammed, with the support of other board members, has been scheduled to start off at 2pm on Tuesday, 30th September and 8am on 1st October.

Categories to be competed for include:

* Men Singles
* Female Singles
* Cadet Boys
* Cadet Girls
* Doubles.

To this end, the association is extending invitation to as many interested table tennis players both within and outside Kogi State to take advantage of the competition to make make Nigeria's 65th independence anniversary celebrations interesting, memorable and worthwhile.

Winners won't go home empty-handed as there will be mouth-watering prizes and gifts to be carted home by potential winners at the end of the two-day championship.

While announcing the plans and arrangements for the forthcoming competition, Chairman Kogi State Table Tennis Association Dr Shaibu D Mohammed, who's also vying for a position on the Board of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, NTTF as North-central Representative urged Chairpersons in the region to emulate this gesture as a way of stirring interest in the game from the region.

Dr Shaibu D Mohammed's passion, love, Philantrophic gesture, and his desire to see the speedy development of the game in Kogi State and the entire North Central States have gone on to produce fast using champions from the state who are currently representing Nigeria 🇳🇬 and Africa at the international scene.

APPROVED NOMINATION FORM AND ELECTION TIMELINES FOR THE FORTHCOMING NATIONAL SPORTS FEDERATION ELECTIONS

The Electoral Committee of the National Sports Federation wishes to inform the general public, member federations, stakeholders, and all interested aspirants that the nomination form and official timeline for the forthcoming National Sports Federation Elections have been duly approved.

The approved nomination form will be available for collection and submission at the Secretariat of each Federation from 6th September to 11th of September during official working hours. Aspirants are expected to complete and return the form within the stipulated timeframe.

All stakeholders are enjoined to adhere strictly to the guidelines, as the Electoral Committee remains committed to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections that will strengthen the growth and development of sports in Nigeria.

REVISED TIMELINES FOR THE NATIONAL SPORTS FEDERATIONS 2025 ELECTIONS

1. Release of Nomination of Forms: 6th September, 2025
2. Deadline for the submission of Nomination Forms: 11th September, 2025
3. Submission of Names of Representatives of all Constituencies, except Zonal Representatives: 11th September, 2025
4. Screening of the Names of Representatives of all Constituencies except Zonal Representatives: 12th and 13th September, 2025
5. Zonal Representative Elections at the Zonal HQRTS: 20th September, 2025
6. Hearing of Petitions and Appeal arising from Zonal Elections: 24th September, 2025
7. Bye-Elections arising from Petitions of the Zonal Elections: 27th September, 2025
8. National Elections at MKO National Stadium: 4th October, 2025
9. Inauguration of National Sports Federation Board: 4th October, 2025
10. Hearing of Petitions and appeal arising from National Elections: 8th October, 2025
11. Bye- Elections arising from Petitions on National Elections (If any) 15th October, 2025
