And we got Another Fresh Set of Jerseys From Super Falcons Star, Chinwendu Ihezuo

After our game today at the Nathaniel Idowu Football Pitch, Oregie, Ihezuo Foundation came calling. The Foundation, owned by Ajegunle's pride and Super Falcons Striker, Chinwendu donated set of jerseys and balls to the team much to the admiration of the players and technical crew.

With this, Ihezuo has shown her commitment to nurturing young football talents in Ajegunle, the community that brought her fame.

The donation aims to encourage and support the development of the young academy players. By providing essential equipment, Ihezuo is helping to create a more conducive environment for these aspiring footballers to hone their skills.

This act of kindness not only benefits the club but also reflects Ihezuo's dedication to giving back to the community. As a role model, she inspires young players to work hard and pursue their dreams.

The Ajegunle United Sporting Club can now focus on developing their skills, thanks to Iheazuo's generosity. This donation is a testament to the positive impact that professional athletes can have on their communities.

The presentation was made by members of her foundation ably led by her grassroots coach, Kenny Somerekun aka Coach Ken.

We at Ajegunle United Sporting Club say a very big thank you for this kind gesture by Ihezuo while also appealing to all AJ breds not to forget their roots.

ISCO DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION FEMALE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT:
AJEGUNLE UNITED SC OFF TO A FLYING START; BEATS HEROES' QUEEN AFC 3:0
* PAPA SOCCER ANGELS PIPS CATS FC 1:0

The much talked about soccer fiesta for females in Ajegunle started today at the prestigious Nathaniel Idowu Football Pitch, Oregie.

In the opening match of the six team invitational tournament, Ajegunle United Sporting Club aka AJ Angels, defeated Heroes' Queens AFC 3:0 to put a foot in the semi finals.

The first half ended goaless as the newly formed AJ Angels piled all the pressure but couldn't put a goal past the much experienced goal keeper of the Heroes.

The second half saw the Angels off to a blistering start, creating chances upon chances.

The goalkeeper of the Heroes finally spilled a shot off the boot of Ajakaeye Gloria for onrushing Yahaya Mariam to tap in the first goal for the Ajegunle Landladies in the 52nd minute.

The best goal of the tournament so far was scored by Nkwocha Favour; the right full back for AJ Angels.

She hit the ball from the far corner and the goalkeeper who was expecting a pull out, mistimed the ball and it sailed into the net.

AJ Angels finally sealed the game when Adebayo Raheemot tapped in a pullout from substitute Blessing Ayila.

In the second game of the tournament, Group B favourites, CATS FC lost to Epe based Papa Soccer Angels by a lone goal.

The tournament continues tomorrow, Tuesday with Clever Stars AFC taking on Heroes' Queens AFC by 10:00am while CATS Ladies will try to fight for a semi final slot with Arising Stars Queens of Okokomaiko.

Winners of the week long tournament will go home with #500,000.00; Second Placed team, #300,000.00 while the third place will go home with #100,000.00.

The tournament is being sponsored by Michael Babatunde, CEO, ISCO Development Foundation and inspired by Lukumon Okulaja, Director of the Foundation.

So Aisha invited me to her house to come and eat Sallah's food. I told her I wanted to come but I was scared of meeting her father whom I heard was a very strict man.

"Praise are you coming or not." She asked.

"But your father will be around na."

"Are you coming?"

I could sense that she will be angry if I failed to come. So I nodded my head even though we were talking over the phone.

"Answer me."

"Yes. I am coming."

"Then come now before my father's guest start coming."

I stood up and took out my white Jalabia and palm sandals. Had my bath and left the house at around 10:20 am.

I got to Aisha's house by 11 am. She was the one that asked me to come inside the house and sit.

Moments later, her father emerged from the bedroom wearing a jalabia and holding a Tasbih in his right hand.

I stood up on seeing him and bowed.

"Good morning sir."

He sat down without saying a word. Dropped his Tasbih on the short stool and began to look at me like a police officer observing a criminal.

In my mind, I was saying to myself, "Praise who sent you. Because of Sallah rice and meat, you came to face problems. You came to be disgraced officially and even arrested."

"What is your name?" His sudden voice echoed, breaking the silence in the room.

"My name is Praise, sir. Obiora Praise."

"Praise?"

"Yes sir."

"Is it your parents that gave you the name?"

"Yes sir."

"And your father's name is Obio. Obio..."

"Obiora sir."

"Obiora."

"Yes sir."

"Sit down."

I could not sit down comfortably anymore. I sat down with half-buttocks. Just at the edge of the chair.

"Welcome to my house."

"Thank you, sir."

He looked at me again.

"I am Aisha's father."

I smiled.

"Yes. She has told me so much about you."

"What did she tell you?"

I raised my head and looked at him.

"Sir?"

"What did my daughter tell you about me?"

"O sir. She said you are a very simple man."

"No, I am not simple. I am a very strict man. What else?"

"Yes sir. She mentioned that."

"I know she will."

"She said you are very kind too and generous."

"That was why you came very early to eat my rice."

"Sir."

"You heard me."

"Ah no. Aisha is a very close friend to me."

He leaned forward.

"How close."

"Not close o. Not like we are close but we are like good friends."

"Since when?"

"School days, sir."

"Stand up."

I stood up.

"Sit on the floor."

"Sir."

"I said sit on the floor."

I sat on the floor.

"Yowa. That is our tradition. When you come to an Alhaji's house like mine, you sit on the floor and not on the chair."

"I didn't know, sir."

"Don't call me sir. Call me Alhaji."

"Alhaji."

"Good."

Just then Aisha emerged from the kitchen carrying a plate of food. Her father stood up without saying a word and walked out.

"Praise sit on the chair na. Why are you sitting on the floor?" Aisha asked.

"Do you want me to disrespect your father?"

"Who? Aminu? That is the gate man. My father left for Dubai this morning."

I turned to the window and saw Aminu laughing with two other girls.
