AFA Football Academy Lafiagi Sacks Three Assistant Coaches Over Performance Concerns

The management of AFA Football Academy Lafiagi has officially announced the disengagement of three assistant coaches following an internal assessment of the team’s technical and administrative performance.

The affected coaches are Coach Weekender Mohammed Kudu, Coach Mohammed Jibril Ibrahim, and Coach Adam Idris(Sanbote).

According to the management, the decision was reached due to a lack of seriousness, insufficient leadership in team handling, poor commitment to duties, and inadequate management standards. As part of the directive, the coaches have been instructed to immediately return all Academy properties and materials in their possession.

The management reaffirmed AFA Football Academy Lafiagi’s unwavering commitment to professionalism, discipline, and the structured development of football talents. The management noted that the decision was taken in the best interest of the academy and its long-term vision, adding that measures are being put in place to strengthen the AFA football academy Lafiagi.

Registration for AIEDU Inter-LGA Peace and Unity Football Tournament (AIPUFT 2026) Commences

The organizers of the AIEDU Inter-LGA Peace and Unity Football Tournament (AIPUFT 2026) are pleased to officially announce the commencement of registration for the 2026 edition of the tournament.

AIPUFT 2026 is a grassroots football competition designed to promote peace, unity, and youth development through sports. The tournament will feature 16 teams drawn from the following six Local Government Areas in Kwara State:

* Edu
* Patigi
* Moro
* Ifelodun
* Baruteen
* Kaiama

The competition aims to positively engage youths, foster inter-community harmony, and provide a platform for talent discovery and football development across Kwara North and beyond.

In addition to exciting competitive matches, AIPUFT 2026 will offer:

* Attractive prize incentives
* Individual awards including Golden Boot, Golden Glove, and Man of the Match
* Opportunities for outstanding players to gain greater exposure and career advancement

Registration opens: 9th January, 2026
Registration closes: 20th January, 2026

Interested teams and stakeholders are encouraged to register within the stipulated period.

AFA AIEDU Football Academy Lafiagi Consoles Coach Habibu Kudi Over Brother’s Death

AFA AIEDU Football Academy Lafiagi has joined the football community in mourning with Coach Habibu Kudi, popularly known as Ndagi Man, of Kolobigi FC, Lafiagi, following the death of his elder brother, Mallam Abdullahi Kudi, fondly called “Ya Abdul.”

In a condolences message made available to NupekoTv, the academy expressed deep sympathy and solidarity with Coach Habibu Kudi and the entire Kudi family, describing the loss as a painful one not only to the family but also to the football fraternity in Lafiagi and its environs.

The management stated that the passing of Mallam Abdullahi Kudi has created a great void, noting that moments like this call for unity, prayers, and collective support within the sporting community.

AFA AIEDU Football Academy extended its heartfelt condolences to Coach Habibu Kudi, the immediate and extended Kudi family, Kolobigi FC, and friends of the deceased, praying that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives his shortcomings and grants him Aljannatul Firdaus.

Happy New Year: AFA AIEDU Football Academy Lafiagi Extends Appreciation to Supporters and Partners

AFA AIEDU Football Academy Lafiagi has issued a comprehensive message of appreciation to institutions, traditional leaders, football authorities, media organisations, partners, and supporters whose contributions have strengthened the academy’s development and international outlook.

The academy expressed special gratitude to the Emir of Lafiagi, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Mohammed Kudu Kawu; National LADDU President, Dr. Abdullahi Jibril Mohammed; Dean of Students Affairs, Kaduna Polytechnic, Dr. Mall Musa N. Faruq; and Dr. Manzuma Nda'aba Ndanusa Mohammed (Gorozon Lafiagi) for their leadership, guidance, and consistent encouragement.

AFA AIEDU Football Academy also acknowledged the support of Kaduna football enthusiasts, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Kwara State Football Association, Edu Football Council, as well as key individuals, including Micheal Eneramo, Garba Lawal, Mr Sport, Bayo Isah, and Najeemu Raji, for their commitment to grassroots football development.

The academy commended the role of the media in amplifying its activities, particularly the Kwara Online Media Practitioners, with special recognition of NupekoTv–Lafiagi, JustEventOnlineTv, TVC News, Daily Trust, Prime Time News, Factual News, Sporting Tribune, and all Kwara-based radio stations.

Deep appreciation was extended to the people of Edu Local Government Area, particularly Lafiagi Emirate, Tsaragi Emirate, and the wider Kwara State community, as well as loyal supporters and fan groups whose dedication continues to inspire the academy.

The Management further praised its technical and administrative team for professionalism and teamwork, led by Head Coach, Monsoor Oladodo (MO6), Team Manager Ahmed Abdulfatai, Assistant Head Coach Kabiru Adewale Sarki, Technical Assistants; Coach Weekender, Coach Mohammed Ibrahim Jibril, Coach Adam Idris(Sambote), and Coach Lukman.

AFA Lafiagi Sends Christmas and New Year Greetings to Members, Supporters

The management, coaches, players, and entire family of AFA – AIEDU Football Academy, Lafiagi, have extended warm Christmas and New Year greetings to members of the academy, supporters, partners, and the general public.

In a goodwill message released by the academy, AFA expressed appreciation to everyone who has supported its vision of youth development through football throughout the year. The academy described the festive season as a time for reflection, unity, and renewed commitment to excellence both on and off the pitch.

According to the statement, AFA remains committed to nurturing young talents, promoting discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while providing a platform for youths in Lafiagi and beyond to achieve their football dreams.
