It is precisely 11 days to the first ever and epoch event for the Ojude Oba Football Tournament for the Ojude Oba Cup. The Main Organising Committee of the event are seriously working around the clock to deliver a top notch festivity of sports excellence amidst traditional festival.

Spirited individuals, philanthropists, industrialists and corporate organisations have shown tremendous interest to be a part of the celebration. The media space is agog with the razzmatazz associated with what promises to be a flamboyant master-piece.

OJUDE OBA CUP SOCCER TOURNAMENT 2025

Ojude Oba is an annual celebration that showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Ijebu people, fostering unity, community spirit, and tradition. Held three days after Eid-Kabir, this vibrant event brings together individuals from Ijebu and beyond, promoting community engagement and youth development.

To further enhance community engagement and youth development through sports, the Management and Board of Ijebu United Football Club have incorporated football into the Ojude Oba Festival. The inaugural Ojude Oba Cup Soccer Tournament will take place on the eve of the 2025 Ojude Oba Festival at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, Nigeria.

This exciting tournament will feature two prominent football clubs from Ijebu Land, REMO STARS and IJEBU UNITED, both with a rich history of contributing to the growth and development of football in Nigeria.

REMO STARS FC:
Remo Stars Football Club is a professional football club that has consistently performed well in the Nigeria Premier Football League, finishing in 3rd and 2nd positions in the past three seasons and representing Nigeria in continental competitions. The club's proprietor, Honourable Kunle Soname, also has investments in a football club in Portugal.

IJEBU UNITED FC:
Ijebu United Football Club is a professional football club campaigning in the Nigeria National League. Established in 2018, the club has become a platform for discovering and developing young talents, contributing positively to the growth and development of football in Nigeria.

The Ojude Oba Cup Soccer Tournament promises to be an exciting and unforgettable event, promoting community spirit and youth development. Individuals and organizations interested in partnering with the event are invited to contact the Head of the Organising Committee.

Management and Board of IJEBU UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB extend warmth and sporting greetings to esteemed IJEBU sons and daughters at home and in diaspora. The Club has concluded arrangement to leverage on the razzmatazz, age-long and iconic celebration of Ojude Oba festival to institute a football tournament to be named Ojude Oba Cup Tournament.

The maiden edition, slated for the 2025 Ojude Oba festival, will involve 4 participating clubs slugging in out at the Otunba Dipo Dina international stadium ijebu Ode for the prestigious Cup on the eve of the celebration.
