FIRST DEFEAT OF THE SEASON, BUT OUR FIGHT CONTINUES

Our unbeaten run in the 2026 NLO Division One came to an end on Thursday as we suffered a 2-1 defeat to HMK FC in our Matchday 8 fixture at the Ile Ogbo Centre.

It was a disappointing result for us after an impressive run that had seen the Akowarriors remain unbeaten throughout the campaign. Despite falling behind, our players showed great determination and resilience in search of a way back into the contest.

We believed we had found an equalizer during the game, but the goal was ruled out by the referee, a decision that proved crucial in the outcome of the match.

While the result is not what we hoped for, we remain proud of the fighting spirit displayed by our players. Defeats are part of football, and this setback will only strengthen our resolve as we approach the final game of the season.

Our focus now shifts to Sunday's Matchday 9 fixture. We are determined to bounce back, finish strongly, and reward our supporters who have stood by us throughout this remarkable campaign.

We thank our fans for their unwavering support and belief in the team. Your encouragement continues to inspire us every step of the way.

Following the rescheduling of Matchdays 8 and 9 by the organizers, Akoment FC returns to action this Thursday in another crucial fixture against HMK FC at the Ile Ogbo Centre.

With the season entering its decisive stage, every match now carries huge significance as the Akowarriors continue their pursuit of the top spot.

Currently sitting second on the table and still unbeaten, the team remains focused, determined and ready for the challenge ahead.

This Thursday, we go again. Another battle. Another opportunity. Another step towards our goal.
