Just because Senne Lammens couldn’t save the last-minute goal against Everton yesterday doesn’t mean David De Gea would have saved it either.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles struck the ball with incredible power and placement from outside the box, making it a very difficult shot for any goalkeeper to stop.

David De Gea was an excellent shot-stopper during his prime, but there is no guarantee that he would have kept out a perfectly placed strike like that.

The bigger issue was how much space Everton were given around the edge of our penalty area in the closing stages.

Lammens had also made some important claims earlier in the game, so that one goal shouldn't define his entire performance.

We should look at how we managed the final minutes as a team rather than putting the blame on the goalkeeper for an outstanding finish. ❤️🙏

I just came across a Manchester United fan's suggestion for Michael Carrick, and I'm actually starting to think he has a point. 👀

His idea is simple: stop trying to fit everyone into one position and let the players compete for the places where they are most comfortable.

He wants Marcus Rashford and Matheus Cunha to compete for the LW spot, while Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorgu battle for the LB position.

On the right, he thinks Bryan Mbeumo and Shea Lacey should compete for the spot until Amad Diallo returns.

He also believes Benjamin Šeško, Mbeumo and Joshua Zirkzee should all have a chance to compete for the striker position.

I especially understand his concern about using Dorgu as a left winger because we already have players who can give us more in that position.

But what do you think, do you agree with his take or would you do things differently? 👀❤️

One thing I've noticed about Marcus Rashford since he came back from Barcelona is that he seems to have added something different to his game.

In these opening games of the season, he's obviously been one of our biggest threats whenever he gets on the ball.

You can see some of the influence from Hansi Flick's Barcelona in the way Rashford is now looking to make runs and attack the space more quickly.

He's not waiting for everything to come to him anymore, and that movement is making him much harder for defenders to deal with.

I really hope Michael Carrick keeps encouraging him to play this way because this is the Rashford we want to see.

Honestly, that was a really good performance from him. ❤️👌🏾

If you carefully watched our game against Everton yesterday, you’ll agree that we actually played well enough to win this game, but we simply failed to manage the final stages properly.

United created the better chances in the first half and then took control early in the second when Bryan Mbeumo gave us the lead just 61 seconds after the restart.

Even after Everton equalised, Benjamin Šeško put us back in front in the 88th minute, so we had every reason to believe the three points were ours.

The biggest mistake was allowing Everton to keep building pressure instead of slowing the game down and protecting our advantage.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles' 96th-minute wonder strike was an incredible finish, but conceding that late after taking the lead twice is something United have to look at honestly.

It wasn't a terrible performance from Carrick's side, but the poor game management at the end is exactly why we left Hill Dickinson with just one point instead of three. 🙏👌
