In a show of unity, appreciation, and sportsmanship, Ekiti-born footballers currently plying their trade across the diaspora and in top clubs within Nigeria are set to participate in a prestigious novelty match tagged "The Showcase Battles 2026."

The event is organized to celebrate and acknowledge the impactful leadership and developmental strides of the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, whose administration has continued to promote growth, youth development, and sporting excellence across the state.

The Showcase Battles 2026 promises to bring together some of Ekiti's finest football talents from around the world in an atmosphere of friendship, entertainment, and celebration of good governance.

REJOINDER

Our attention has been drawn to a report alleging that Coach Bola Idris resigned from his position with Ekiti United FC.

This information is inaccurate and requires clarification.

Coach Bola Idris did not resign from his appointment,his engagement with Ekiti United FC was on a temporary basis for a specified period, which has now expired,upon the completion of the agreed term, his appointment naturally came to an end at the conclusion of the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) season in April.

Therefore, his departure should not be misconstrued as a resignation but rather as the expiration of a fixed-term appointment.

We sincerely appreciate Coach Bola Idris for his contributions and dedication during his tenure with the club and wish him continued success in his future endeavours.
