Celebrating Dietitians Week 2026 🎉🥗

Being a dietitian is so much more than creating meal plans. It's about helping people heal, regain confidence, improve their health, and build sustainable habits that transform their lives.

Every day, I have the privilege of walking alongside individuals on their journey to better nutrition, healthier bodies, and improved well-being. Seeing clients achieve goals they once thought were impossible is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Dietitians support people through illness and recovery. We help individuals manage chronic health conditions, improve their relationship with food, strengthen their immunity, optimize their nutrition, and improve their overall quality of life. We work with children, adults, older adults, hospital patients, and healthy individuals who simply want to take better care of themselves.

At Weight Gain and Recovery, we have had the privilege of supporting people from different walks of life those seeking healthy weight gain, individuals recovering from illness, people managing nutrition-related health concerns, and many others striving for better health and wellness.

What makes this profession special is that nutrition touches every stage of life. Behind every recommendation is a desire to help someone live healthier, feel stronger, and enjoy a better quality of life.

A calorie surplus matters, but successful weight gain is about more than calories alone. Digestion, absorption, consistency, activity levels, sleep, recovery, and overall health all play a role in determining whether the scale moves.

"I eat a lot, but I never gain weight."

This is probably one of the most common things I hear during consultations.

So I usually ask a follow-up question.

"Okay, what have you eaten so far today?"

Or if it's early in the day,

"What did you eat yesterday?"

The answers are always interesting. 😅

And that's usually the moment when both of us realize that what feels like "a lot" and what is actually enough to support weight gain are sometimes two completely different things.

No judgment, by the way.

Most people aren't intentionally under-eating. They're simply estimating based on how full they feel, how often they snack, or how busy their day has been.

That's why weight gain is rarely as simple as:

"Just eat more."

There's usually a lot more to uncover. 👀
