Tottenham Hotspur forward Dominic Solanke says he's ready to visit his root in Nigeria.

“I haven’t actually been yet,” Solanke told Showmax in an interview this week.

“I definitely need to take some time off soon and go and see my roots, so hopefully in the next few years.”

Despite choosing England over Nigeria, Solanke revealed his proud of his Nigerian heritage; while at the same time admit keeping an eye on Nigerian footballers in Europe.

“My favourite Nigerian footballer currently has to be Ademola Lookman. We are very close friends. What he has been doing over the past few years has been nothing short of phenomenal.

“What he has been doing has been crazy, especially for the Nigerian national team so I have been super proud. Another of my favourite Nigerian footballers has to be Victor Osimhen. He has been one of the best in the world.”

“If things continue like this, there are lots of players that will not like to play for the Super Eagles. When we come to play here, it’s not about the money, it’s for the love, you understand. Where you feel is your home, they tell you it’s not.

When you go to Europe to play, you’re loved and supported there, but when you come to your country, your people begin to ask what you’re doing and who brought you, even telling you to return to Europe.

Back in the days, they always told us to be careful because they won’t let us be ourselves in Europe, but now, it has nothing to do with the Europeans, we are the ones killing ourselves.

There are some of my teammates (Super Eagles) that are down after every game we play because the fans are killing them on social media. Even if you don’t see comments, your name still gets mentioned.

Galatasary head coach Okan Buruk insists forward Victor Osimhen is the best forward in world football at the moment.

Osimhen = 8 goals in 9 games
Haaland = 15 goals in 16 games

“There are not many elite strikers in Europe,” Buruk said. “Haaland may come to mind first, but since Manchester City have lost in recent weeks, I would say Osimhen is the best right now,” Okan said in an interview.

🗣 If I don’t go back to coaching, I believe Nigeria will miss something says former Super Eagles assistant coach, Joseph Yobo, while encouraging NFF to change how they treat local coaches.

“I learned a lot from Gernot Rohr and Eguavoen. They {NFF} didn’t allow me to follow through so they could see what I had learned and how I could impact the players. I haven’t shut the door on coaching, but it’s not my top priority. They {NFF} need to change how they treat our local coaches. "
