The church asked me to teach teenagers about social media and business.
I opened with the scripture 1 Thessalonians 4:11–12.
“Work with your hands… so that you will not be dependent on anybody.”
Paul wrote that before the internet existed but it describes exactly what a teenager with a phone and a skill can do today.
I stood in that room and told them the truth nobody had said out loud:
Your phone is already powerful enough. What’s missing is the decision to use it differently.
We talked about building income. We talked about integrity. We talked about what it really means to keep your lamp burning.
The adults in the room took notes too.
The conversation our young people need is not just spiritual.
It’s practical.
It’s financial.
And it belongs in the church.
This is my favourite kind of room to be in, where faith and finance meet the next generation.
Grateful to ECWA Good News Church for creating this space.
