Play It Forward -East Malaysia Edition was successfully carried out in Miri, Sarawak, reaching two rural schools in the Bekenu area.

The programme engaged children from underserved communities, including the Iban community, many of whom have limited access to structured football coaching and sporting opportunities. Through football coaching sessions and interactive activities, the children were introduced to basic football skills while promoting teamwork, confidence, discipline, and enjoyment of the game.

One of the schools visited was SK Rumah Essau, a rural school with only 26 students, the majority of whom are from the Iban community. Despite the school’s small size and remote location, the students displayed great enthusiasm and eagerness to learn throughout the programme.

Overall, the East Malaysia edition was well received by both schools, teachers, and the local community. The football clinic provided a meaningful opportunity to extend Play It Forward beyond Peninsular Malaysia, allowing the us to connect with children from diverse backgrounds while reinforcing the programme’s mission of making football more accessible to underserved communities.

With the support of .motors.sdn.bhd , another 31 kids from 3 shelter and orphanage homes got the opportunity to be part of a meaningful and fun-filled football clinic.

More than just football, it’s about creating moments and giving these kids a chance to dream a little bigger.
