Hippocampus adalah suatu sudut di otak yang dikaitkan dengan daya ingatan, terutamanya. Nama hippocampus berasal dari bahasa Yunani (hippos, yang bererti "kuda," dan kampos, yang bererti "raksasa laut"), kerana rupa strukturnya adalah seperti kuda laut.
