Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta

Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta This annual sailing regatta held November, from Royal Selangor Yacht Club in Klang, to Langkawi

The Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta is Malaysia’s oldest keel boat sailing event since its inception in 1989. It is organised by the Royal Selangor Yacht Club in association with the UK-based Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC). Held every November, from Royal Selangor Yacht Club in Port Klang to Langkawi, consists of 3 offshore passage races, plus 3 sets of harbour / island races, and is considered one of the toughest & most tactical in Asia, both on sea and land! Every year, several hundred professional and amateur sailors from over 20 countries come to Malaysia for nine days of highly competitive sailing and social activities. The regatta will see competitors take up the challenge of sailing from Port Klang to Pangkor, before making their way from Penang to Langkawi to complete three overnight passage races covering 260 miles. There will also be a total of three days of harbour races in Penang and Langkawi. Dinner parties and onshore activities will be held at every port of call, with plenty of opportunities to relax and socialise after the races.

116 Days to Go! ⛵

A throwback to the 2019 Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta.

Watch the action from the first harbour race in Penang, following the challenging Pangkor–Penang passage race. Every mark, every tactical decision, and every gust shaped the battle on the water.

A special tribute to Tofan, who proudly competed in the Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta from 2019 to 2024. Fair winds, and thank you for being part of the journey.
