Hi, I’m Deric. I used to be a dancer, insurance agent and a banker before I decided to get into fitness as a personal trainer. I used to have bad eating habit and I only eat food that I like (unhealthy ones mostly). Since young, I’ve been considered malnutrition and underweight. I gets tired easily, and no matter how much I ate, I couldn’t put on weight. I thought high metabolism was one of the reason but soon that I realize, it was my eating habit and the lack of knowledge about nutrition.
While scrolling through FB, I saw my friend, Yvonne (now my wife) posts about weight management program in her feed and I approached her. She encouraged me to start the program and I did. Thanks to her coaching, diet and nutrition plan, 3 months later, I gained 5kg lean muscles. Impressed with the result, I kept going and being consistent with my routine. 12 months later, I hit my body goal and in total I gained more than 10kg lean muscles. The journey wasn’t really that hard, its not extreme and its sustainable. It became a lifestyle.
Her coach, Jayden and her invited me to an event organized by the nutrition company I use during my program and I said Yes (even though I disliked it). I went to the event and never thought that I could see thousands of people in the same room, they’re all there because of their good results (myself included). I start to have interest towards the company and then, one day I decided to get involved in the business after I become a gym personal trainer myself. We started our first fitclub, the Banana Fit Club Bukit Jalil in the mid of 2018. Despite ups and downs, we have helped more than 600 people in and out of the community to get fitter, and healthier. Seeing the changes in people is what that really kept me going. A change to be better in any ways, as a person, not just physically and mentally but overall.
