郭林气功能改善体质，增加氧的吸入，使练功者心身优化而产生多方面的综合效应。修炼郭林气功，可以通过稳定呼吸功能来稳定植物神经功能。因为呼吸对植物神经有反馈作用， 稳定了植物神经以后就可以稳定内分泌，而肿瘤的发生往往和神经内分泌免疫有关系，通过药物可以一定程度调节免疫。郭林气功通过导引也可以调节免疫，更重要的是可以稳定神经功能。神经功能稳定以后可以使得内分泌和免疫轴很稳定。这对肿瘤患者是非常重要的。是走向康复的一个非常重要环节。
