As I reflect... My line of work deals with a lot of young people. Was a part time lecturer. My gym has many young adults. The events I run are usually those with the "young at heart" coming. Private mindset coaching for young professionals. The hobbies I play are full of young people.
I have meet some of the most cynical, ❄️🍓 & Karen complaining individuals ever... Trouble makers... Soy boys & honestly dreadful soul on the planet... The type that makes you wonder "wouldn't society work better without this person around" kind of questions. All they do is drama, blaming & a constant miserable victim that suck the life out of you.
But I have also meet some of the most hungry, passionate, crazy intelligent/mature for their age . The combination of their curiosity, youth & coachability makes them the hope of our country. Yet these people are often lonely until you introduce them to like minded circle... There you see the spark in their eyes.
Young leaders. Action takers. They are wonderful as servant workers but can switch roles to be a tribe leaders. They respect wisdom & tradition adding their own modern methods. One more thing... They have a big heart to share... They know when to step up AND step back. They take initiatives. They understand urgency. They are very resourceful (plus to the modern tech) & they hold their opinion until they get more information (not relying on what just a friend said).
This duality with dealing with youth shows that where the country, society or community is going depends which one of these is your majority. If you have a tribe of builders, things happen, things grow... If you have a tribe of mongers & decadence, everything is toxic.
This reinforces my belief that you must continue to stay positive & have a growth mindset but at the same time kick & get rid of destructive individuals or groups.
Like gardening, tend to the ones that can grow. Pluck out and keep away from poisonous weeds.
Be they successful fighters, champions, talents, young leaders or social workers... These are the one give hope and I'm proud to be around them & continue to learn.
May our circle be surrounded by the new, young & hopeful.
