Carolyn's School of Rhythmic Gymnastics (CSRG) is a Rhythmic Gymnastics School based in Selangor, Malaysia which is established in 2010 founded by Carolyn Au Yong. CSRG has become one of the most successful rhythmic gymnastics schools in Malaysia offering
various programs, designed for children aged 4 and above. CSRG is a training ground for both recreational and competitive gymnasts to receive highly professional training and improve physical development. Carolyn's School of Rhythmic Gymnastics is affiliated with Malaysian Gymnastics Federation (MGF) and Selangor Amateur Gymnastics Association (SAGA). Providing children with an opportunity to participate in rhythmic gymnastics competitions is a top priority for CSRG. To reach this goal we expose our gymnasts' to many local and international competitions throughout the year. We are very proud of our rhythmic gymnastics team, which traditionally ranks high in state and national rhythmic events following the Malaysian Rhythmic Gymnastics Classification Program as well as the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Code of Points. CSRG makes every effort to create the most positive and rewarding rhythmic gymnastics experience for your child. Our school has also brought many girls to achieving great heights including three girls who are currently training in the Malaysian National Team. CSRG has a team of qualified and enthusiastic coaches with good teaching experience. CSRG coaches have an invaluable experience to develop each child’s self-confidence and self-esteem, improving physical strength and developing self-confidence. Our coaches guide gymnasts’ parents through the each level of development, meeting both physical and mental needs of each unique child. ABOUT THE PRINCIPAL & HEAD COACH
Carolyn Au Yong is the Founder and Principal of Carolyn School of Rhythmic Gymnastics (CSRG) which was established in year 2010. Having coached for the past 12 years (since 2003), opening a rhythmic gymnastics school of her own was one of the many goals she had. On top of CSRG, she still continues to coach in various schools for children aged between 4-16 years old. Carolyn has been involved in Rhythmic Gymnastics since the age of 9 and pursued it for 7 years. During her years as a National Gymnast representing Malaysia, she has gained much knowledge and experience having trained under a Russian coach (the late, Irina Gabashvili) to represent Malaysia in the XVI Commonwealth Games in 1998, which brought her to winning a Gold and Bronze Medal for Malaysia. Having represented the National Malaysian Team, she has participated in many local and international competitions and had training stints abroad with gymnast from countries with very reputable gymnastics achievements such as Russia, Bulgaria, Canada, Germany, Australia and USA. In recognition of her efforts, she was Awarded Kuala Lumpur Sports Women Of the Year (1999) by Majlis Sukan Kuala Lumpur, Best Womens Team - Commonwealth Games 1998 RSG Team (1999), Winner For Milo & The National Sports Council (1999) and Awarded the title of Pingat Pangkuan Negara (PPN) by the late Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah. She was also awarded as Neutrogena Neu Women Achiever Award as Most Promising Young Women in 2003. She now has a team of dedicated CSRG coaches who have the same drive, passion and objective as she does. Many of whom are former rhythmic gymnast who represented state and national level. Carolyn Au Yong's thoughts,

ABOUT RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS
Rhythmic Gymnastics is one of the most beautiful and precise Olympic Sports. It is a combination of the dynamics and flexibility of gymnastics, the technical knowledge of ballet, and the self-expression and rhythm of modern dance. Unmatched for its elegant, expressive, precise and graceful movements, Rhythmic Gymnastics is choreographed to music and accompanied by colourful hoops, balls, ropes, ribbons, and clubs. The benefits of Rhythmic Gymnastics to girls in their formative years include physical fitness, self-discipline, positive self-esteem, team skills, fun and a healthy lifestyle that the gymnast will sustain for life. Unlike Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics is currently performed in official competition by women only. Competitors use small pieces of hand apparatus - Rope, Hoop, Ball, Clubs and Ribbon as an extension of their bodies in routines always accompanied by music. The performance takes place on a carpeted mat that is 13m. It is slightly cushioned, but certainly not to the extent of a 'spring' floor used in Artistic Gymnastics. The question has often been asked of Rhythmic Gymnastics: Is it Dance? In reality it is a unique combination of the best of all three worlds. The essence of Rhythmic Gymnastics is self-expression. In the absence of extremely difficult acrobatic elements used in Artistic Gymnastics, the movements in Rhythmic Gymnastics are elegant, expressive, precise and graceful. Athletes require a full range of flexibility throughout the entire body in addition to explosive power. Both factors combined allow athletes to maintain perfect body alignment in leaps, balances, pirouettes and other intricate body movements. Athletes display coordination and cohesion in their use of the hand apparatus with rhythmic sensibility while taking risks with technical precision. The highest-level competitors take great pride in their original compositions as they appear to become one with the music and the apparatus.
