May Mental Wellness Ideas: walks outside, sit in the early morning sun to drink your tea, coffee or cacao, soak in the tub with binaural beats, take an extra long supported Shavasana, meditate a few minutes a day, say no, do less, turn off your notifications, stop listening to the news, call a friend, go sit in silence at an art gallery, self-pleasure, spring clean off your desk or desktop, cuddle with your loved ones.

Tomorrow we celebrate Children’s Day here in Mexico, a tradition I have come to love. It is not only for the kids to feel honored, valued and celebrated for their innocence. It is also a day for adults to reflect on their childhood, playful side and I would add inner child dynamics.

There is a lot of power in celebrating how far you have come. Doing the work to revisit your childhood self and giving her the safety and reassurance that maybe she didn’t get in certain key moments.

Remembering what you loved to do as a child and what brought you joy.

Lastly, reflecting on what your intuition told you back then before you had been fully marinated in society’s messaging on your limits based on gender, age, socioeconomic status, geographic location, familial structure and/or the patriaracial perspective on your intelligence, capability and self worth.

All I know is that the more I take care of myself, the clearer I can see that my potential is limitless.

Little Megan would be proud.
