In the age of the screen, in-person connection is becoming vital. It’s what our hearts actually long for; how we are created to be… in communion and community.
While technology has connected people all across the globe and made it possible to be in literal constant connection, the depth of being in each other’s actual presence is lacking.
As we continue to be constantly connected, people are finding themselves lonelier than ever. While connecting online has soo many benefits. It does not replace real connection.
Small things you can do to get more connected in your community and in life:
✨ Do a group fitness class instead of working out alone or in your house… and actually speak to the person next to you.
✨ Invite your neighbor, co-worker or someone you see everyday at your grocery store or coffee shop to have a coffee or go for a walk together.
✨ Join a local club… book club, travel club, run club, mahjong club
✨Volunteer and serve with a non-profit
✨Make an effort to speak with the other parents at your kids and invite someone to lunch or a group family hang out
✨Travel in a group- it will change your life. From retreats to adventure groups and interest trips, it’s an incredible way to see the world and meet life long friends. This is why I lead retreats. The healing and joy I see when a group of people comes together is transformative. Being in the real presence of others while learning, experiencing, and Being in life together is powerful.
How do you stay connected? (Ps I’m thankful for the communication of reel sending 😂 It is a fun way to keep in touch and let others know you’re thinking of them!)
