Good morning, everyone!

It is currently 8:08 a.m. in Cozumel, and we've had a couple of rainy mornings here.

The first sponge in my video — which I think is one of the prettiest — is in about 80–85 feet of water on Columbia Deep.

The second is one of the larger sponges we get to see. It sits in about 50 feet of water near the beginning of San Francisco Wall, depending on where you start the dive.

From what I've read, some of these large sponges can live for thousands of years, which is pretty incredible when you think about it.

Hopefully, the next time you're diving with us at Endless Blue Scuba, we'll get a chance to show you these two beautiful specimens.

Hugs to everyone from Silvia Rivera and I…

Good morning, everyone!

Please remember, I'm not an expert videographer, but I've learned a few things from people who are much better at it than I am.

Use filters when they're appropriate, pay attention to where the sun is, get as close as you can to what you're filming without disturbing it, try shooting upward, and keep your camera as steady as possible. And, of course, always be careful around the marine environment.

As far as editing goes, I really only trim my videos. For me, the challenge is trying to get what I want in-camera. I look through the viewfinder and adjust my position in relation to the sun to try to get the colors looking as natural as possible.

Sometimes I use video lights, and that's a whole different challenge when it comes to getting the colors right!
I'm still learning, but that's part of what makes underwater video fun for me.

Hugs to everyone from Endless Blue Scuba, Silvia Rivera and me!

Ever get home from a fantastic dive, look at your photos and wonder why they don't quite capture what you saw?

A few small adjustments can make a surprising difference!

Fun fact: Red filters work best with natural light at moderate depths. Once you're deep enough that very little red light remains, a filter can't magically bring it back. **And if you're using strobes or video lights, you'll generally want to skip the filter altogether.

Happy snapping! 🤿 📷

Good morning, everyone!
Yes, crazy as it is, I'm up this early in the morning making a video — which I actually enjoy doing!

We made some handholds on Xeluna out of 3/4-inch rope to make moving around the boat and climbing the ladder after a dive safer and easier for everyone. Of course, we can and will make adjustments to the measurements of the handholds as needed.

To all of our friends and divers at Endless Blue Scuba, if you have any ideas about how we can make Xeluna or our operation safer or better, please tell us.

In my mind, this boat belongs to all of our friends and divers because, without your patronage, she wouldn't be on the water. I want to know what you think, so don't be shy or feel like you can't tell us what you want.

Have a great day, everyone, and hugs from Silvia Rivera and me!

The fish in my video are called Schoolmasters. They're a very common fish here in Cozumel.

Good morning, everyone!

I wanted to show y'all how Xeluna looks. The correct pronunciation of her name is sheh-LOO-nah.

We just have a few more things to finish up on her, and then she'll be ready to go diving. Xeluna is going to be a really nice dive boat, and we're looking forward to bringing you the best service we possibly can.

Our first priority will always be safety, followed by giving you the most relaxing dives and surface intervals we possibly can.

We hope to see you soon at Endless Blue Scuba!

Hugs to each and every one of you from Silvia Rivera and me.
