Comino is only 3.5 square kilometers! 🏝 It's uninhabited and you could say civilization-free 😮

The island’s main attraction is the Blue Lagoon - it is a paradise for snorkelers, divers, and windsurfers 🏄‍♀️ For adventurous people, Comino is also a great place for camping or to spend a day hiking across the island ☀️

Every Sunday a huge fish market takes place along Marsaxlokk's waterfront 🐟🐟🐟 Not only does it attract tourists but also local residents. In addition to fresh fish and seafood, you can find there delicious local sweets, vegetables, fruits, clothes, toys, souvenirs, and household items.
While in Marsaxlokk, make sure to see Luzzu ⛵ - traditional, colorful fishing boats, decorated with the eye of Osiris, which is supposed to scare away evil spirits 👁️

There are several reasons why Malta attracts filmmakers from all around the world 🎥 main reasons are wonderful, natural landscapes and varied and rich architecture 🏰
The greatest concentration of locations used in movies is in the vicinity of the capital - Valetta. This is where you can find Ricasoli fort, which was shown in movies such as Troy and Gladiator ⚔️
Filmmakers often leave the capital in search of seaside locations 🌊 Many movies were filmed in Gozo or on the uninhabited islet of Comino 🏝️ Another interesting movie location is the village of Popeye, which was built in Mellieha specially for the Popeye movie 🏘️ Often productions such as Game of Thrones shows famous tourist attractions such as Azzure Window or Mdina 🏛️

Mdina is a unique example of a walled city, founded in the 8th century BC by the Phoenicians 🏰 It was the first capital of Malta and the main seat of the nobility until 1530. Mdina is also known as the “Silent City” 🤫🤫 - businesses have strict noise restrictions, and cars are also strictly limited. The ancient architecture and the car restriction added together make the stay in Mdina feel like stepping back in time ⌛ That’s why it’s used by directors as a movie set for productions taking place in old times - e.g. Game of Thrones 👑

There are countless reasons to visit Malta 🇲🇹 Beautiful beaches ⛱ amazing weather ☀️and ... food! See our top 5 dishes to try in Malta!
✅ Pastizzi - a traditional Maltese savoury pastry. They usually have a filling either of ricotta or curried peas (our favorite!)
✅ Qassata - a round pie, slightly bigger than pastizzi. It's typically filled with ricotta cheese, spinach or meat.
✅ Ftira - a ring-shaped Maltese bread, usually eaten as a sandwich with tuna, tomatoes, onion, capers and olives. The best snack for a beach day 😋
✅ Rabbit Stew (Stuffat tal-Fenek') - is considered Malta's national dish. It is made of typical local products like homegrown vegetables, herbs and red wine.
✅ Imqaret - a traditional diamond-shaped Maltese pastry filled with dates, citrus, and spices. Super sweet and definitely worth trying!
