Making us at Sliema Beach Soccer proud!

It is with immense pride that we congratulate Gabriele Barbagallo, who was part of the historic Sliema team at the Euro Winners Cup, where a Maltese team achieved what no Maltese team had done before — winning a match at the highest level of Beach Soccer on the European stage. A truly memorable moment for Sliema and Maltese sport. 🇲🇹👏

His incredible journey has continued, with Gabriele recently helping the Italian National Beach Soccer Team win the Euro Beach Soccer League Division A 2026 in Moldova. 🇮🇹🏆

As if that wasn’t enough, Gabriele was also recognised as the Best Goalkeeper of the Serie A Q8 Poule Scudetto, an outstanding individual achievement and a testament to his dedication, hard work and talent. 🧤⭐

Take a bow! Brandon Muscat 🤯🇲🇹

19/07/2026

On the final matchday of the Euro Beach Soccer League in Georgia, the Maltese National Team delivered a highly resilient performance, securing a dramatic 4-3 victory against an experienced Slovakian side. 🙌🏻

Lee-Joe Schembri, Lark Falzon and Beppe Barone were named in the starting lineup for the afternoon fixture.

Captain Claudio Venuto contributed to the scoreline, confidently converting a penalty to secure Malta's second goal.

Matthew Agius and Brandonlee Bray both provided valuable energy on the sand, with Bray scoring in the dying minutes of regulation time to equalize and push the match into extra time.

Goalkeeper Brandon Muscat featured prominently in the first and third periods, delivering crucial saves to keep Malta competitive throughout the match. With just one minute remaining in the extra period, Muscat executed a stunning, long-range shot from his own half to score the decisive goal and secure the win for Malta.

This fixture concludes a hard-fought tournament campaign for the Maltese squad.

We at Sliema Beach Soccer are immensely proud of all seven of our club players who honorably represented the National Team on the international stage, as well as the rest of the squad. 🇲🇹🇪🇺

The Maltese National Team completed their third fixture of the tournament, sustaining a 5–2 defeat against an English side that delivered a strong performance.

Lee-Joe Schembri, Beppe Barone, and Brandon Muscat were named in the starting lineup, contributing to a closely contested opening half.

Claudio Venuto and Lark Falzon also featured heavily, rotating minutes to maintain the squad's high-tempo rotation.

In a positive development, Sliema captain Matthew Agius returned to action, securing minutes on the sand after recovering from a minor injury sustained during yesterday's fixture against Georgia.

Brandonlee Bray provided the primary offensive spark for Malta, scoring both goals. This impressive display brings his individual tournament tally to four goals across three matches.

The Maltese National Team will conclude their tournament campaign tomorrow, facing Slovakia at 14:30 in their final fixture. 🇲🇹 vs 🇸🇰

The Maltese National Team delivered a highly respectable performance in a closely contested fixture against tournament hosts Georgia.

Under the leadership of captain Claudio Venuto, the squad demonstrated significant composure on the sand.

Goalkeepers Brandon Muscat and Lark Falzon both showcased their capabilities with exceptionally solid performances throughout the match.

Furthermore, Beppe Barone and Lee-Joe Schembri maintained their strong form, once again contributing high-quality displays when on the pitch.

Regrettably, Sliema captain Matthew Agius suffered a minor injury, cutting his matchday short and sidelining him for the remainder of the fixture.

Providing the definitive spark for the Maltese side was Brandonlee Bray. In the final minutes of the match, Bray executed a spectacular bicycle kick to score a remarkable goal, which stands as a strong contender for goal of the tournament.

The Maltese National Team will return to action this afternoon for their third match of the tournament, facing England at 16:00. 🇲🇹vs🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
