Malta Sport Coaches Association in partnership with Sport Coaching Europe encourages you to spend 5 valuable minutes to take part in a NEW Bully-Free Survey.

Aimed at youth sport athletes between 10-18yrs old (With parental consent) the survey is part of Erasmus+ Sport 2025 project titled “Team Up for Respect: Promoting Bully-Free Zones in Grassroots Sports” (Project No: 101245037) and aims to understand the prevalence of bullying and other undesirable behaviours in grassroots sports environments.

The Malta Sport Coaches Association would like to congratulate the Authority for Integrity in Maltese Sport (AiMS) on the production and launch the first-ever safeguarding handbook dedicated to Maltese sport.

'Best Practices in Maltese Sport'.

The MSCA supports this publication on another significant milestone in the promotion of Safe Sport and serves as a comprehensive resource for advancing safeguarding standards across the sporting sector.

MSCA was part of a recent visit by the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) in Malta where multiple meetings were held with major stakeholders in Maltese sport.

Strategic meetings of collaboration, growth and recognition where discussed with the Maltese Olympic Committee (MOC), Authority for Integrity in Maltese Sport (AIMS), Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) and finally Sport Malta.

Malta is already participating both locally and internationally pushing forwards the development of coach recognition and education and hopes such visits and support will continue to drive longer term action and progress.

The Malta Sport Coaches Association would firstly like to provide thanks to Hon. Clifton Grima for his time and dedication during his time as Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation since 2021.

His work and support to the development and promotion of sport in Malta has provided a positive impact within the sports industry in Malta and we wish him every success in his future role and responsibilities.

Malta Sport Coaches Association would then like to extend our welcome to Hon. Byron Camilleri on his appointment as Minister for Education and Sport. We look forward to working closely together in an exciting time for our association growth and support towards coaching in Malta.

We wish Minister Camilleri every success in his new role in continuing to develop and support the sports sector in Malta.

The Maltese Olympic Committee President Mr Julian Pace Bonello and Secretary General Mr Joseph Cassar recently welcomed Lorraine Lafrenière, President, and Dr. Ladislav Petrovic, Secretary General of the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE), alongside their Malta representative Dr. Renzo Kerr-Cumbo – President of the Malta Sport Coaches Association for a productive discussion on the importance of coaching qualifications and the vital role coaches play in promoting safe, ethical, and values-driven sport.

Coach Education Opportunity with Malta Triathlon Federation

Malta Triathlon Federation will be hosting a world triathlon level 1 coaching course organised in Malta. The course will be organised in a Hybrid Format to facilitate the participants.

The schedule of the course is the following
* Online Period - 5 Consecutive weeks with the following online Zoom sessions every week:
* Facilitator Open Hours (60min) on Thursdays (starting from 21 May, ending on 18 June) @18:00 CET
* Seminars (90min) on Saturdays (starting from 23 May, ending on 20 June) @10:00 CET
* Face-to-face Period:
25-26 June (THU-FRI) afternoon & evening
27-28 June (all day)

The deadline to apply for the course is Friday 1st May 2026 @ noon

Fee for the course is €300 which to be transferred to the Malta Triathlon Federation account
