ARLINGTON 8/17

We weren’t sure if we were going to make Arlington Raceway-Official Page on Saturday after wrecking some stuff on Friday at Jackson, but we got it done!!! HUGE thanks to Matt Johnson, Bill Johnson, and Brett Allen for helping me and borrowing me parts to get on track another night.

I had to use my spare dished wing for Saturday night. I forgot what it felt like to have a dished wing….. LOCKED DOWN AND TIGHT! We did what we could with what we all had. At the end of the feature, I put down a few quick laps. About 1.5 tenths off the fastest lap time in the race! I am figuring out this stuff, and it’s coming quicker each time on track!!

JACKSON NATIONALS RECAP! 8/15-16/24

Hot Laps and Qualifying were both in one session and I qualified 1st in my group, 13th overall out of 40+ cars!!! Car and everything felt amazing.

Heat race I started outside pole and on the warm up lap, noticed that my zus fasteners on the right side of my hood came out. I held on as much as I could, ended up 4th. You can see in the picture below how my hood was stuck up and my sight (especially in the corners) was very limited! SKETCHY!!! I know I could have done better if it hadn’t been for my hood.

For the A feature on Thursday, my fuel line came off and dumped fuel all over my lap. I pulled in and had a DNF.

I JUST prequalified for the A feature with the points I had from Thursday!!! Hot laps went pretty good on Friday, just had some brake issues. It is not a great feeling to know I don’t have brakes before I take a green flag!😅 Luckily, when the track is locked down, you don’t need much brake.

In the final A feature of nationals, I started in the back and through a few restarts, gained some confidence. Again, my brakes were failing and I just couldn’t believe I had made the A feature at Jackson Nationals!!! I got a little crossed up mid race in turn 4 and a car clipped me. I just tipped over and bent a few things on my car. I ended up with another DNF, but left with lots of knowledge.

I am so blessed and grateful to have raced this race and to be able to do what I do!!! HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO MY COUSIN Brandon Bosma FOR WINNING JACKSON NATIONALS!!!!!!!! Brandon has helped me immensely in my racing career and is an extraordinary racer himself!!

Any bit helps. Each and every night adds up and after an expensive wreck, we are looking for some more funding. First time at Jackson Motorplex was such a fun learning experience. By the grace of God, I am safe and sound after hitting the wall flipping my car! I am so blessed and thankful!

Thursday night, I was able to show some good speed, ran 4th for a few laps in the B feature before falling back and I think building up too much pressure in the tires.

Friday night the car felt AMAZING in hot laps, and I made a wrong call to try to run the top in the heat. The wall sucked me right in, I was not able to turn out of it and flipped. That put an end to my busy weekend of racing. My Ultra Shield seat and Sharp Advantage insert kept me safe and sound.

I cannot express how much I have been learning at each and every single race. Seat time is EVERYTHING. If there’s anything harder than driving a sprint car, it’s setting up the sprint car.

I can’t thank anyone enough. Such big thanks goes out to everyone who came to watch and support, helped me, and continues to help me. I love the racing itself, but absolutely love the people that are in this community.

Last night, I got a little too close to the wall and went tumbling. I will not be at Arlington Raceway tonight. I am okay and thank you to everyone who has checked up on me and helped out! I will be posting a more detailed recap of both nights at Jackson! I continue to learn and am excited to get back after it. Not sure when, but I am determined and ready to work extra hard to get back!
