Powering a sustainable future in Brazil 🇧🇷
When our team was asked to choose a carbon off-setting project, we were naturally drawn to those in the countries in which we have raced, and Brazil provided the perfect solution.
The Ventos do Araripe III Complex supplies clean electricity to the Brazilian National Interconnected System (SIN) with a total installed capacity of 358.8 MW which generates a reduction of over 1.1 million tons of CO₂ emissions.
After racing here four times, Brazil is a place our team cherishes and, with the added benefits the project brings, we are proud to have supported our friends near Sao Paulo.
Beyond clean energy, this project:
- Reduces greenhouse gas emissions (CO2) from the Brazilian Interconnected System.
- Generates extra income for the landowners, while they can continue using the area for other activities.
- Stimulates the regional economy by increasing tax revenues for the local government and direct and indirect job opportunities for local workers and service suppliers.
- Stimulates the development of a proficient tertiary sector in the region, thus creating opportunities for education, professionalisation and employment.
