Tomorrow, I’ll have the pleasure of facilitating a conversation on intercultural competencies in coaching with the DEIB Practitioners community.
In global and multicultural environments, coaching requires more than communication skills. It asks us to become aware of the invisible cultural lenses shaping trust, leadership, emotions, and connection.
I would be delighted to see coaches, leaders, HR professionals, and educators join us for this rich exchange.

Every leader I've coached who hit a wall hit it not because their strategy failed, but because they had stopped leading from their values.

Over the years, these three values have shown up in almost every leadership breakdown I've worked through with clients.

𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆: Coherence between who you are and how you lead and not just honesty as a personality trait. When the map changes, leaders without this fracture.

𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘆: with yourself first. About what you know and don't know, and what the situation is actually asking of you. The leaders who navigate uncertainty best can say: I don't have the full picture yet, and here is how I'm thinking through it.

𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: the question most high performers skip until it's too late. Not just what are we achieving, but how, and at what cost. A leadership practice that can't sustain itself is a crisis waiting for a date.

Which of the three do you find hardest to protect when the pressure is highest?

Last week, I had the honor of presenting for ICF Saudi Arabia Chapter during International Coaching Week 2026.

The session was built around a question : what makes coaching truly transformational, rather than just effective?

We explored the COEUR Model, a framework I developed to help coaches and leaders move from scattered insights to coherent, sustainable action. Glad to share my insights on the model and I look forward to sharing more in coming weeks!

This session was a reminder for all of us that we are not just coaching individuals but systems through individuals. Grateful to the ICF Saudi Arabia Chapter for the invitation, to Soha Adloni and Waleed Marwan for organizing the session, and to every participant who brought their full presence to the room.

International Coaching Week in Kazakhstan, 200+ coaches and leaders in one room, and a question that didn't have easy answers: what does coaching look like when AI is already reshaping the work leaders do?

The conversation kept returning to the same point: the skills that become harder to replicate aren't technical ones. Empathy, ethical judgment, the ability to hold complexity without collapsing it into a formula. That's where coaching earns its place at the leadership table.

A room full of people who take the profession seriously, alongside incredible speakers including Elena Chelokidi, ACTC MCC, Philippe Mathijs, Dana Jantemirova, Galymbek Bermaganbetov, and Elena Grigoryeva building the field in the Kazakh language.

Grateful to have been part of this and so glad the conversation is travelling beyond than rooms.

In 2008, HR told me coaching programs were reserved for directors and senior executives. I wasn't one yet. So I took it in my own hands.

I enrolled in three coaching programs over those years, while still holding a full executive career across telecom, media, and pharma.

I read constantly, paid for everything out of pocket, and built relationships with coaches I'd never have met otherwise.

When I finally made the full transition in 2012, it wasn't a leap. The work had already been done, in private, before anyone asked me to do it.

What I found once I was fully in it was that most coaching frameworks weren't built for the leaders I was sitting across from. The models came from Europe and North America, insightful but framed through assumptions that didn't quite fit in the Arab world or Francophone Africa.

So I started building my own, in Arabic, French, and English, for hierarchical settings, family businesses, and multilingual teams to make it reachable for the people across the globe.

Every leader I worked with was capable. Most had never been taught to lead from within. That kept happening, across cultures, across industries, across these 20 years. So I wrote it down.

Creating Bridges is written for every leader who chooses purpose over title, who carries forward the voices that haven't yet been heard.

If you've ever built something quietly, before anyone asked you to, this book is for you.

I've sat across from some of the most senior leaders in the room. The higher they'd risen, the quieter the struggle had become.

As you advance, people question you less openly, leading to more careful, polished, and diplomatic feedback that subtly narrows your perspective when you need it most.

You're faced with decisions without a playbook. These complex choices involve trade-offs, incomplete info, and lasting consequences that shape culture, direction, and trust.

Even transitioning into senior leadership isn't often discussed enough. It requires a complete shift in identity. What got you here may no longer serve you. And no one hands you the blueprint for what comes next.

This is where coaching becomes less of a benefit and more of a necessity. Because the level of complexity you are navigating deserves a space that matches it.

The leaders who get the most from coaching are not the ones who need it most. They are the ones who chose it deliberately, and chose well.

Because membership is not just a credential you frame and forget.

For leaders investing in coaching, here is what it actually means :

𝗜𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱. Not a personal code they wrote themselves. A framework that governs confidentiality, boundaries, and professional conduct, upheld by an independent global body.

𝗜𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱. ICF-credentialed coaches are trained in approaches that have been tested, peer-reviewed, and refined across decades of practice. Not intuition dressed up as a framework.

𝗜𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱. Continued education, supervision, and peer accountability are not optional. They are requirements. The coach in the room with you is actively working on their own growth, not coasting on past experience.

Coaching changes things. The right coaching changes the right things.

Grateful to have joined the IV International Autism Conference 2026 Abu Dhabi, UAE.

A powerful reminder that beyond awareness, we must build new competencies across the ecosystem, leveraging AI and technology to better understand the lived experiences of People of Determination and those around them.

Thanks to ICF UAE for making this happen

I didn’t plan it, but releasing my book just before Vienna connected the dots.

Vienna showed me two worlds.
The boardroom with complex decisions and the city with stillness.

Somewhere between the two, I realized this is what leadership demands today.

In today’s cross-cultural complexity, great leaders aren’t the ones who understand every culture.

But the ones who learn to hold their own perspective and make room for another.

It is one of the hardest disciplines in and that's why I decided to turn my years of experiences and insights into my new book, 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘨𝘦𝘴.

If you are leading across cultures, generations, or moments of disruption and uncertainty, this book was written for you.
