October 16 is National Mammography Day.
This October, we're proud to stand with BCRF.
A mammogram can detect breast cancer years before symptoms appear. When caught early, the 5-year survival rate is over 90%.
Since 1993, early detection and improved treatments have helped reduce breast cancer deaths in the U.S. by 44%.
Why it matters:
Cancer found earlier = easier to treat
Screen-detected cancers are often smaller
Treatment costs can be 28% lower
Who should get screened?
Women 40+ should get a mammogram annually
Talk to your doctor if you have a family history or other risk factors
Talk to your doctor. Schedule your mammogram. Share this with someone you love.
