It’s a wrap in Budapest for the Luxembourg’s duo!

The finals day in the European Individual Closed Championships started for Amir Samimi battling again full five games against a Ukrainian opponent. Amir came off as the fresher player in the fifth game and ran away with the match.

Elisenda Ruiz-Kaiser unluckily got a walkover from the last match and finished in position 33, having won all her matches after the narrow first round defeat back on Wednesday.

Amir’s last match also for positions 33/34 ended up in a Polish celebration, as physically strong Filip Jarota overcame our player 3-1.

Wins continue in Budapest🔥👏🏻

Yesterday brought us only one match for each to play. Both of the players ran away with wins as Elisenda beat her Finnish opponent in three straight sets and Amir concluded the day with a win against a Croatian opponent. He had to dig in deeper as the match went all the way to fifth gamer after Amir being already 0-2 down.

Today Amir plays at 10:00 (33rd-36th place) and Eli at 14:00 (33rd-34th place).

2 WINS today 🤩🔥👏🏻

Elisenda Ruiz-Kaiser took a convincing win in the EICC this morning. She was one step ahead from the beginning and took the match against Austrian Karina Seiner 3-0 (11-6, 11-7, 11-6). The only dip happened in the second game when she had to dig deep to comeback from a 3-7 deficit and win 8 consecutive points to take a commanding 2-0 lead. Eli will continue her campaign tomorrow for position 33-40.

After a long day of waiting and more than an hour of delay on court Amir Samimi got to start the match against an Austrian opponent as well, Daniel Lutz. Amir took the first game relatively quickly and seemed to be fully in charge. Unluckily, the opponent got injured in the second game, was unable to proceed and had to withdraw. Therefore Amir won the match and continues to compete tomorrow.

It was a tough opening day yesterday for the Luxembourgish duo!

The first round encounters in the European Individual Closed Championships proved too challenging for the Luxembourg nos 1: Elisenda Ruiz-Kaiser and Amir Samimi. Amir lost his match in 3 straight but hard fought games whereas Eli’s match went all the way to the decider with the Hungarian taking the win 17-15.

Now both our players will compete for positions 33-64. Eli has her match at 10:00 and Amir at 18:20. Let’s watch and send some support 🫶🏻 🇱🇺🇭🇺 Lëtz go guys!!! 😊💪🏻✨👏🏻

European Individual Closed Championships start tomorrow in Budapest, with European finest players participating 🇭🇺🔥🤩
We also have there our top players - Elisenda Ruiz-Kaiser and Amir Samimi are representing Luxembourg🫶🏻🫶🏻

Eli will face a local favourite and 17/32 seed Gabriella Csokasi at 11:20 on Wed and the 17/32 seed Amir will play against a young Dutch Guido Lindner, also tomorrow 13:20
