Swedish Dynamite is back!

Der nächste Rückkehrer: auch in der nächsten Saison wird Alan Bedirhan (Bedirhanoglu) die Schuhe für unsere Regionalligamannschaft schnüren!

Der explosive Schwede, der in der Mitte der letzten Saison zu den SUNKINGS stieß, wird diesmal von Beginn an dabei sein und bereitet sich bereits mit dem Rest des Teams auf die neue Saison vor.

Mit 9,1 Punkten und 5,6 Rebounds hatte er einen nicht unerheblichen Anteil am Klassenerhalt. In der kommenden Saison will er seine guten Leistungen bestätigen und dem Team zu einem besseren Saisonverlauf verhelfen.

The USC Salkehatchie Indians picked up a big road win last night defeating Denmark Tech 74-69. A.J. Brooks led the Indians with a season high 21 points. Deshaw Andrews had 17 points and Reggie Wright had 12 points. Daniel Waeber making his first start had 8 rebounds and a key block late in the game. The Indians move to 12-7 on the season and 2-1 in conference play.

Pour la deuxième fois cette année, j'ai eu l'honneur d'accompagner les jeunes de la LBBA - Luxembourg Basketball Academy pour une nouvelle édition de l'EYBL, organisé à Riga (Lettonie). Soudée, puissante, et crainte par toutes les défenses adverses, la jeune équipe, emmenée par Coach Darko et composée de jeunes talents serbes, sénégalais, polonais et américains, a enchaîné les victoires. C'était magique ! Je ne serai sûrement pas du voyage pour les deux prochains tournois, et j'en suis désolé, mais je ne peux que leur souhaiter que de réaliser le même parcours qu'au premier stage.

For the second time this year, I had the privilege of going with the LBBA youth team to this new year's l'EYBL tournament that took place in Riga, Latvia. Solid and feared by all defenses, the team, lead by coach Darko and composed of young talents from every corner of the world (Senegalese, Polish, Serbian and Americans) took on the big stage and experienced nothing but back to back victories. It was such a blast! I will certainly not be part of the next journey, but I wish you just as much success this time around.

Drugi put ove godine, imao sam privilegiju da idem sa mladim timom LBBA na EYBL-ov turnir koji se dogodio u glavnom gradu Letonije, Rigi. Čvrsti i strahopoštovani od strane svih odbrana, tim, vođen trenerom Darkom, sastavljen od mladih talenata iz svih krajeva sveta(Senegala, Poljske, Srbije, Makedonije i Amerike), ostvario je na turniru ništa drugo no uzastopne pobede. Bilo je neverovatno! Neću biti deo sledećeg putovanja, ali želim im isti uspeh koji su ostvarili prošlog p**a.

LBBA participating in top U20 European league, the EYBL!

The Luxembourg Basketball Academy athletes and their staff traveled to Kaunas, Lithuania, and participated in EYBL third stage held from 20 to 23 February 2014.

Coach Ristic can be satisfied about the results. Apart from a tough game against Russian team BS Samara, his athletes’ performance did indeed not go unnoticed as they secured two wins against BA Tallinn Kalev (Tallinn, Estonia) and BC Runa (Moscow, Russia). Furthermore, they only suffered a one point loss against BC Liepaja (Liepaja, Latvia) on a buzzer shot and played an excellent game against Ventspils (Ventspils, Latvia) who could only secure the win after overtime.

LBBA’s guard Rami Ghanem has been elected MVP of the team with an average of 17.5 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and a double-double game (31 pts, 10 reb) against BC Ventspils. All LBBA athletes have contributed to the honorable results and improved tremendously over these five intense high level games.

The LBBA Academy is proud to announce its participation in the 2014-2015 EYBL league, which will certainly be a huge challenge for our athletes but most importantly allow us to compete at top U20 European level with excellent, renowned teams. This is definitely the perfect way for our athletes to be seen and put into practice what they will and have been taught during their 9 months stay at LBBA.

The Luxembourg Basketball Academy would like to extend its profound thanks to EYBL league staff for their highly professional work as well as to the Sport Mania team and its staff for the excellent organization of the stage and its warm hospitality. We had a great time in Kaunas and are looking forward to the 2014-2015 EYBL season!
