By Luke P. Joe
Preparations for the inaugural Bettomax Cup 2026 continue to gather momentum, with organizers unveiling key details ahead of the tournament's official press conference and draw.
The event is scheduled for Friday, July 31, 2026, at 12:00 noon at the Liberia Football Association headquarters in Congo Town, where participating clubs will learn their opponents and receive further tournament guidelines.
Organizers disclosed that the eight participating teams will each receive US$2,500 in financial support. As part of the tournament's preparation package, every team will receive an initial US$1,000 on Friday to assist with pre-competition expenses.
In addition, tournament checks and warm-up items will be distributed following the official draw.
Looking beyond this year's edition, organizers announced ambitious plans to expand the Bettomax Cup into a regional competition involving four countries in future editions.
The two finalists will also be given the opportunity to participate in a charity outreach initiative, reinforcing the tournament's commitment to community engagement.
Regarding player registration, each club will be permitted to register 25 individuals for every match day, consisting of 20 players and five officials.
Organizers also confirmed that the Competition Management System (CMS) will not be used for the 2026 edition, with participating teams instead required to submit their squad lists on each match day.
The Bettomax Cup is expected to bring together some of Liberia's top football clubs in what promises to be an exciting and competitive tournament.
