GBARNGA OLD-TIMERS SOCIAL & ATHLETIC CLUB (GOSAC)

DECLARATION OF VACANCY FOR EXECUTIVE POSITIONS

In accordance with Article IX of the Constitution of the Gbarnga Old-Timers Social & Athletic Club (GOSAC), the Executive Committee has appointed Mr. Joseph Suakollie as Chairman of the Independent Elections Commission to conduct and supervise the Association's By-election.

Therefore, the Commission, with the power vested hereby, announces vacancies for the following positions:

1. ASSISTANT SECRETARY GENERAL
2. TREASURER

A. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1. Treasurer
√ Must be knowledgeable in financial management and have a proven record of honesty
√ Must be a high school graduate and above

2. Assistant Secretary General
√ Must be a high school graduate
√ Must have been an active member of GOSAC for at least a year and in good financial standing.
√ Must possess a proven ability to write and speak English fluently

B. GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR ELIGIBILITY TO HOLD OFFICE IN GOSAC

For this By-Election, the following guidelines shall apply:

1. All candidates must be duly registered members of GOSAC and must have settled all dues, contributions, and other financial obligations to the Association.
2. A candidate must be a person of good reputation with high moral standing both within the Association and the community in which he or she resides.
3. Candidates must be free of any felonious record or must have been officially pardoned of all felonious acts.
4. Candidates for any elected position shall submit a written application to the Office of the Chairman of the Elections Commission, along with a Curriculum Vitae (CV), at least seven (7) days before Election Day.
5. Candidates must have attained the voting age of thirty-five (35) years or above to be eligible to vote

Deadline for Application & Registration: August 29, 2026

Candidate's Debate: September 4, 2026

Election Day: September 5, 2026

All interested and qualified members are encouraged to participate.

INDEPENDENCE DAY MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Fellow Members of GOSAC, and Citizens of B**g County,

On behalf of the Executive Committee and the entire membership of the Gbarnga Old Timers Social Athletic Club (GOSAC), I extend warmest felicitations to all Liberians as we celebrate 179 years of our nation's independence.

July 26 is not just a date on our calendar; it is a testament to the courage, resilience, and unwavering spirit of our forebears who gave us Africa's first Republic. As old timers, we understand what it means to preserve a legacy, to keep playing even when the game gets tough, and to pass the torch to the next generation. That is the true Liberian spirit.

At GOSAC, we believe that sports is more than just football. It is a powerful tool for peace, unity, reconciliation, and healthy living. On the field, we forget our differences - political, ethnic, or social - and we play as one team. This is the Liberia we must continue to build: One People, One Purpose, One Liberia.

Upholding Peace: Let us be ambassadors of peace in Gbarnga, in B**g County, and across Liberia.
Promoting Unity: Let our togetherness as old timers inspire our communities to stay united.
Investing in Wellness: Let us continue to encourage healthy living through sports for all ages.

To all our members, our wives, our children, our supporters, and our friends in the diaspora, thank you for keeping the GOSAC spirit alive. Your commitment is the strength of this great club. A special speedy recovery prayer to all our injured members.

On this Independence Day, let us celebrate with joy but also with reflection and responsibility.

Hon. James M. Kolleh Fulfills Commitment to GOSAC with Visit to Practice Ground

This morning, Hon. James Kolleh and his team paid a courtesy visit to our practice ground at the David Kuyon Sports Stadium to fulfill a significant promise made during our leadership induction ceremony held on 12 April 2026 at the B4 Theatre, Gboveh High School Campus. The promise involved providing us with one thousand United States Dollars ($1,000.00) to facilitate the acquisition of a plot of land for our office project.

During the visit held at our headquarters, Hon. Kolleh engaged with members and officials, reaffirming his support for sports development within B**g County. This action exemplifies the fulfillment of commitments made to GOSAC and its members.

The Gbarnga Old-timers Social and Athletic Club (GOSAC) executive and members sincerely appreciate Hon. Kolleh and his team for their steadfastness and dedication to youth and sports development. We anticipate ongoing collaboration as we strive to elevate B**g County to achieve parity with neighboring counties.

Gbarnga Old-timers Social And Athletic Club (GOSAC) held a friendly soccer match against the Coaches Association of B**g County in a well-attended encounter that brought together players, officials, and fans from across the county.

GOSAC secured a 2:1 victory at full time after both teams delivered a beautiful display of football, with crisp passing, tactical movement, and exciting attacking play that kept the crowd entertained throughout.

The crowd was thrilled by the quality on the pitch and left celebrating not just GOSAC’s win, but also the spirit of sportsmanship and community unity that the match represented.
