Cricket in Trincomalee is stepping forward… and we’re proud to lead the way. 💯🏏

Hindu Cricket Club will face Joes Sports Club in a 2-day friendly red-ball encounter — with both teams competing at the Division 2 level of Sri Lanka Cricket.

For the first time, a team from Trincomalee will experience a 2-day match on a turf wicket in Polonnaruwa. 🔥

This special encounter is named “Battle of the Crests”🦁, scheduled for 📅1st & 2nd May 2026.

More than just a friendly, this is a step towards developing the standard of cricket in the Trincomalee district. We aim to make this an annual tradition, building stronger, smarter, and more competitive cricketers. 💪

Our second league match was held on 13.04.2026 against Symonds SC 💪

Batting first, our boys showed great determination at the crease, playing 47.2 overs out of 50 and putting up a fighting total of 166 runs on the board 👏🔥

In reply, Symonds SC chased down the target in 26.4 overs. But don’t let that fool you… our boys made them work for every single run 😤
Our bowlers kept the pressure on throughout, picking up 7 wickets and pushing the game deep with true fighting spirit 💯

Special moments from the game 🌟

Our young all-rounder Karthigeyan brought up his maiden club-level fifty — a well-earned milestone after starting his journey with us just 2 years ago from Grade 9 📈🔥

And with the ball, Sharukessan delivered a sensational performance, picking up his maiden fifer in only his second club match 👀🎯
