"Former Sabra athlete Roshan Dammika Ranathunga delivered a stunning performance at the 2026 National Athletics Trials in Diyagama, clocking 13.73 seconds to win the 110m hurdles. He finished a mere 0.01 seconds shy of the Sri Lankan national record (13.72s).

🔴 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 ගැන විශේෂ නිවේදනය 🔴

2026 International University Sports Federation (FISU) විසින් සංවිධානය කරන ලෝක විශ්වවිද්‍යාලීය රට හරහා දිවීමේ තරඟාවලිය සඳහා ශ්‍රී ලංකා සබරගමුව විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ ක්‍රීඩකයන් දෙදෙනෙකු සහභාගී වන අතර එම ක්‍රීඩකයන්ට දෙදෙනාටම
රු.924,400 .00 මුදලක් වැයවන බව Sri Lanka University Sports Association මගින් දැනුම් දී ඇත. නමුත් මෙම ක්‍රීඩකයන් දෙදෙනාට සබරගමුව විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය මගින් මෙවර කිසිදු මුදලක් ලබා නොදීමට තීරණය කර ඇති බවට විශ්වවිද්‍යාල පරිපාලනය විසින් දැනුම් දී ඇත.

මෙම තරගය 2026 මාර්තු මස 14,15 දිනයේදී ඉතාලියේදි පැවැත්විමට නියමිතව ඇති අතර මෙම මූල්‍යමය ගැටලුව හේතුවෙන් මෙවර තරඟයට සුදානම් වන මෙම ක්‍රීඩකයින් බරපතළ අපහසුතාවයකට පත්ව ඇත.

එමෙන්ම 2025 වසරේ පැවති FISU World University Games සඳහා අප විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ ක්‍රීඩකයින් සහභාගී වූ අතර, එම ක්‍රීඩකයින්ට ගෙවිය යුතු මුදල් මෙතෙක් සම්පූර්ණයෙන් ගෙවා නොමැති අතර එම ක්‍රීඩකයන්ද මෙලෙසින් ගිය වසරේදී ද ටිකට් පොත් සාදා විකිණීමට සිදුවිය. මෙවරද මෙම ක්‍රීඩකයන් දෙදෙනාටද එලෙසින්ම එම ඉරණම ම අත් වී ඇත.
