A high scoring thriller comes to an end as our Falcons take home the victory and the battle between the Falcon and the Lion ends 3 - 0 with our Falcons up on top🔥
This was the 3rd clash between one of our oldest rivals and the heat was on indeed.
The Lions captain Buddimal won the toss and invited our falcons to bat first and as always we were up to the task,
Even though we lost a few wickets in quick succession we were quick to make a comeback as an incredible 89 run partnership by star batsman Dulara and our Anchor Malitha along with some quick cameos in the lower order by Kalpa and Dulmith made sure our boys ended up with 303 runs in just 41 overs. Dulara ending his innings with 74(50) and Malitha with 44(47)
In return the Lions came with all guns blazing as their opener Nikhil came on the attack along with his partner Keven putting up an opening stand of 75 runs along with another brilliant partnership by Keven and Thevan of 103 runs for the 1st wicket. And it seemed as if a massive 303 run chase was possible,
However our Falcons did not back down, Captain Avishka decided to bring in the wild card into the attack as our wicket keeping all rounder Malitha left his gloves behind to spin his webs.
a brilliant come back bowling performance by Malitha along with our young gun Kalpa dragged our boys back into the winning path as they bagged an incredible 7 wickets between them flipping the game on its head and our Falcons won the match by 23 runs ending the Trilogy 3-0.
