விளையாட்டு உலகிலும் விளையாட்டு உலகுக்கு வெளியிலும் ஒரு வெற்றி வீரன்

திரு. செந்தில்ராஜ் அவர்கள்தான் என்னை முதன்முதலில் திரு. பிரேமச்சந்திரன் அவர்களுக்கு அறிமுகப்படுத்தினார். அன்று முதலே அவரது குணம் வார்தைகளை விட உரக்கப் பேசியது.
நேர்மையானவர், பணிவானவர், உண்மையான விளையாட்டு வீரர்.

திரு. பிரேமச்சந்திரன் அவர்கள் விளையாட்டுத்துறையில் ஒரு பெரும் சகாப்தம். யாழ் மத்திய கல்லூரிக்காக புகழ்பெற்ற கிரிக்கெட் வீரராக திகழ்ந்தவர். இலங்கைக்கு வந்த பிறகு, சாம்ஸ் கல்லூரியில் புதிய சவாலாக டேபிள் டென்னிஸை தேர்ந்தெடுத்தார்.

60-69 வயதுப் பிரிவில், அர்ப்பணிப்பு என்றால் என்ன என்பதை அவர் நிரூபித்தார். *2026 அகில இலங்கை மூத்தோர் டேபிள் டென்னிஸ் போட்டியில் இரண்டாம் இடத்தை* பெற்றார்.
இதை இன்னும் சிறப்பாக்குவது என்னவென்றால், அவர் இதை சாம்ஸ் கல்லூரி முறையில் வென்றார்: ஒழுக்கத்துடன், தவறாத பயிற்சியுடன், கற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்ற ஆர்வத்துடன்.

இன்று நமது சாம்ஸ் கல்லூரி குடும்பத்தில் அவர் பல பாத்திரங்களை வகிக்கிறார்.
*வீரர். வழிகாட்டி. அனுசரணையாளர். நிகழ்வு பொறுப்பாளர். பெரிய அண்ணன்.*
எந்தப் பாத்திரமாக இருந்தாலும், அதே ஆர்வத்துடனும் அதே மனதுடனும் அவர் வந்து நிற்கிறார்.

பிரேமச்சந்திரன் sir, உங்களை நினைத்து நாங்கள் மிகவும் பெருமைப்படுகிறோம். உங்கள் பயணம் எங்களுக்கு நினைவூட்டுகிறது: வயது ஒரு எண் மட்டுமே, சிறப்பு என்றும் ஓய்வு பெறாது.
மீண்டும் ஒருமுறை, மனமார்ந்த வாழ்த்துக்களும் பாராட்டுக்களும்.

*A Champion On and Off the Table*

It was Mr. Chenthilraj who first introduced me to Mr. Premachandran, and from day one his character spoke louder than words.
Straightforward, humble, and a true sportsman to the core.

Mr. Premachandran has been a legend across sports. He was a famous cricketer for Jaffna Central College, and when he came to Sri Lanka he picked up a new challenge at Sam’s College: table tennis.

At 60-69, he just proved what dedication looks like by becoming *1st Runner Up at the All Island Veterans Table Tennis Tournament 2026*.
What makes it even more special? He earned it the Sam’s College way: with discipline, with regular practice, and with a constant hunger to learn.

Today he wears many hats in our Sam’s College family.
*Player. Mentor. Sponsor. Party Host. Big Brother.*
Whatever the role, he shows up with the same passion and heart.

We are incredibly proud of you, Premachandran sir. Your journey reminds us that age is just a number, and excellence never retires.
