Brothers’ Champion League – Season 02 (Held on 23rd March 2025)

The much-anticipated Brothers’ Champion League (BCL) Season 02, held on 23rd March 2025, was a grand success, marking another memorable chapter of the BCL journey. The event brought together talent, energy, and brotherhood, blending fun and competition throughout the day.

The day began with the “Bowl to a Stump” Fun Game, which showcased precision and enthusiasm among participants. The winners of this entertaining segment were Lahiru Madawa (1st place), Chathun Kavinda (2nd place), and Mahima Pansilu (3rd place).

The Prediction Challenge added an engaging twist to the event, where participants made their forecasts for the tournament outcomes. The results were as follows:

The BCL Season 01 (Introduction Edition), held on 02nd June 2024, marked a memorable beginning to a new era of unity and sportsmanship among the brotherhood of Bandaranayake College Eastern Cadet Band Family. The tournament showcased remarkable talent, team spirit, and competitive energy throughout.

Five formidable teams showcased their spirit, unity, and passion for the game as they battled for the prestigious Fresh BCL Trophy. The tournament brought together generations of Nayakenz under one brotherhood, blending youthful energy with experienced leadership. Eastern Super Giant, led by Malitha Maduwantha (2011), displayed consistency and tactical brilliance, while Pioneer, under the leadership of Pasan Malinda (2014), embodied resilience and teamwork. Super Six, captained by Dinal Denuwan (2023), represented the new generation’s enthusiasm and fearless cricket. Sharp Shooters, guided by Mahesh Chathuranga (2014), proved to be a dominant force with sharp strategies and cohesive play. Meanwhile, Eastern Super Expert, led by Lahiru Sampath (2014), combined experience and composure to challenge every opponent.

The Sharp Shooters emerged as the Champions, displaying outstanding performance and determination, while the Super Six proudly claimed the Runners-up position after a spirited battle on the field.

Individual brilliance also shone brightly, with Lahiru Madhawa (2012) being recognized as both the Best Bowler and the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his exceptional all-round contribution. Kasun Neranjana (2014) was awarded Best Batsman, honoring his consistency and skill at the crease.

The event not only celebrated cricketing excellence but also strengthened the bonds of camaraderie, teamwork, and the enduring spirit of the ECB family.
