Judo has been a part of the list of sports at the University of Kelaniya since decades ago although inactive as a team sport in last decade. Judo was relaunched in 2016 by forming a team of Judokas headed by Ms. Karunarathna, a black belt national judo champion. Since relaunch, the team has trained hard and 20 Judokas faced their first grading test in January 2017. The team grows strong in numbers

every month and more opportunities to test themselves arises in terms of tournaments and coaching camps. The team comprises of both male and female undergraduates representing all faculties of the university. Judokas train in both defensive judo and competitive judo. We welcome offers for matches and training sessions. Call us or message us on facebook to arrange a event.
