Now THAT'S how you start the new year! 🏏🔥 With a new look side, Paragon began the new year and the season with a commanding win against Valiants Cricket Club. After dismissing them for 271 in 40 overs. Paragons faced a tough task of chasing at nearly 7 an over. However, Contributions fromnew newcomers Mohamed Zaharan (37) and Wasim Akram (47) kept the chase alive after a quick fire 37 in 20 balls from Raji.
However, with 6 wickets down, the turning point of the match came when Cainan Anthoneyz launched a stunning counter-attack, scoring a blistering innings of 61 not out off just 27 balls with 6 sixes! 🔥

In the end, the combined Paragons team fell short by 16 runs. But yesterday was all about the spirit and values of Paragon Cricket Club and honoring the memory of a guy who did a lot for the Club and meant so much to us and even the opponents, the Mighty Stallions. It was an honor to have the Omar Sheriff family at the post match event to hand the trophy. Thank you to everyone who participated and attended. Congrats to the winners 🏆 until next year when we do this all over again 🏏 🙌

WHAT A FANTASTIC WIN FOR THE PARAGONS!😍
Playing after an extended break of 2 months, we managed to staunchly defend a modest score through sheer teamwork, creative thinking, and only '9 1/2' players on the field (with the skipper fielding with just one hand and the other bandaged). Congrats to the entire team for beating a top quality side that went unbeaten in the first round of the CDCA tournament this year 🏏

Yes, we have been quiet here for a long time, but the cricket has been nothing short of enthralling! Extremely proud to finish the CDCA tournament with 4 wins out of 7 (including a walkover, albeit against the weakest side in the group). Great effort by the entire team to come back strongly and narrowly miss qualification for the next round. Memorable tournament for all Paragons especially winning at SLLDC Cricket Ground in Narahenpita 🏏

The other team failed to show up🙄🚫, but didn't stop Paragon Cricket Club from finding an opposition and doing what we came to do - play good cricket.
