Each year September 8th marks UNESCO’s International Literacy day (ILD), raising awareness globally on the issues surrounding adult and child literacy. This year, ILD’s theme is ‘Literacy and skills development’. It will explore approaches that can support the development of literacy and skills to improve people’s life and work and contribute to equitable and sustainable societies.
On this occasion, UNESCO Beirut is launching a Literacy Award Competition to celebrate International Literacy Day.
