Join Highlanders961 on Sunday 3rd of May 2026 for a hiking trip in Baskinta area, in a fascinating natural site called Beqaata En Nahr, where Assi river flows, surrounded by beautiful cliffs.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The hike is one way. It consists of a small steep-sided valley with an altitude that goes from 1200 to 1350 meters, starting from Kfardebiane to reach Bqaatouta, then Boqaatet Kenaan through which the river Al Assi flows and is mostly surrounded by cliffs (Nahr al-Assi, not to be confused with its homonymous in the Beqaa Valley). The North facing slope is the most fascinating feature of the valley with its acidic and ferruginous cliffs of sandstone. The surrounding area contains habitations, orchards and pine forests.
The trail includes adventurous passages with steel stairs, but not dangerous.
The hike will be guided by an ecotourism specialist, LMTA authorized guide Nader Tebechrany.
Hiking Duration: 6hrs including short stops, and a long break at the waterfall.
Difficulity Level: Moderate 6/10.
during which we will have time to rest and take some exceptional photos of the amazing overlooking views we will be seeing on our way. (rivers, Pine forests, Rocks, Landscapes, fauna, Flora, waterfalls, canyons...)
