LET'S TALK 🗣
The final four is near. The fight remains for the top spots between Beirut, Dynamo, Riyadi and Sagesse. Once settled, the import selection will play a decisive role in each team's chances to win the title. We have a say regarding that.
▪️Beirut: After signing Wael Arakji, the puzzle on the guard positions is now complete. A packed and versatile squad from pos 1 to 4. On that note, Beirut might be interested in signing a center to fill the existing gap (if other teams sign a center) and build on the variety they already have. A tall mobile center that can run the floor with his teammates and play the post is the ideal characteristics Beirut would want.
▪️Riyadi: No debate here. If Ismail won't be able to join, Riyadi would be definitely looking for a decent center bringing the needed balance to their roster. An experienced big guy who can score and crash the boards would elevate Riyadi's performance all around especially on defense. Such player would make the yellows scary under the paint next to players like Mark and Jean who are very good in rebounds and box out. With Ismail, Riyadi can shift to a SF. A solid slasher with Amir and Ismail is dangerous and might bring them a big advantage.
▪️Dynamo: It's pretty tricky here. Dynamo can go two different ways. Signing an all around guard who is a shooter and a faciliator sounds interesting playing alongside good scorers like Jad, Ahmad and Ali H. But, is it secure in the front-court ? Can Ali H handle the pressure facing high caliber imports ? No doubt that Karim Ezzeddine boosted their presence on the inside as he got the size of a PF, but Dynamo can still aim on aquiring a center who can faciliate Haidar's game and bring more size, having the tallest line-up in the league.
▪️Sagesse: If they manage to get an import, Sagesse might possibly go with a center. An import who fits in and be a team player is what Sagesse will be looking for. Playing alongside a championship material PG like Ali Mezher, the import should run the court very well and play the pick n' roll. Add to that, getting a center who can shoot the 3 ball brings more diversity and gives more room to Christophe to perform.
