The Power of Imagination
“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” — Proverbs 23:7
Every dream we build begins with a picture we first see in our mind.
Imagination is not idle thinking. It is the birthplace of vision. And vision is what gives direction, discipline, and purpose to our lives.
We are created to be co-creators with God. But before anything can be created, it must first be seen. True blindness is not the loss of sight — it is the loss of vision.
Visions are formed from imagination. They are the mental pictures of who we can become and what we can build if we dare to believe. We cannot become what we do not see.
“The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching the innermost parts of his being.”
There is an inner sight — the eyes of our understanding — through which we recognize the plans and purposes we are called to.
When vision is awakened, faith follows. And with faith comes the courage to pursue what once seemed impossible.
Where there is no vision, there is no restraint, no alignment, and no sustained pursuit. But when vision is clear, it begins to order our decisions, our time, and the use of our gifts and abilities.
To conceive (to imagine) is the first step toward becoming.
Nurture those dreams. Allow them to grow into clear images within you. Even if the vision tarries, wait for it.
Fear, doubt, and unbelief can limit what we see — and in doing so, limit what we believe is possible.
But imagination, guided by faith, unlocks vision. And vision has the power to shape a life of purpose.
What are you seeing in the picture of your mind today?
