Cambodia Need Peace Not War
According to international news reports, armed clashes between Thailand and Cambodia began on December 8 and have continued for three days, up to December 10, bringing fear and suffering to civilians on both sides of the border. As a Cambodian citizen, we want the world to know that Cambodia does not seek war. Our country wishes for peace, stability, and respectful dialogue with all of our neighbors.
During these difficult days, we pray for the safety of our soldiers who are standing at the front lines. They are defending our land, protecting our people, and carrying the heavy burden of conflict that they never asked for. We hope they remain safe, strong, and that they may return home to their families without harm.
We also send our deepest condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives. Every life taken is a tragedy for both nations. No mother should lose her child, no family should suffer this pain, and no community should be torn apart by war. Their memories remind us why peace is so important.
Cambodia calls on the international community to support immediate de-escalation, humanitarian protection, and peaceful negotiations. We stand firmly for diplomacy, not destruction. Our hope is simple: that violence ends, that our soldiers are safe, that civilians are protected, and that peace returns to our region as soon as possible.
