South Coast Pirates RFU Club.

2023/24 KRU Championship winners🏆 The club’s ambition is to become one of the top Rugby Clubs of the future.

An Ukunda/Diani based Rugby Club called “South Coast Pirates” was formed in 2013, this project was started as the brain child of George Barbour from the early beginnings of the Diani Beach Touch Rugby 5 aside tournament in 2008. Most of the players come from underprivileged backgrounds and many of them were introduced to playing touch rugby on the beach, by George, to be able to participate in the

first DBTR tournament. Over the last few years the enthusiasm has grown and these young players have been requesting a more formal approach to training to be able to play the 15 aside full contact game. Harnessing that enthusiasm, and with the help of rugby coach David Nolan, a full team materialized and joined the third division of the RFU league in 2013.

Kwa masikitiko makubwa, South Coast Pirates RFC inapokea taarifa ya kifo cha ghafla cha Felix Oloo, aliyewahi kuwa mchezaji na kocha wa Nakuru RFC pamoja na kocha mkuu wa Kenya Lionesses.

Felix alikuwa nguzo muhimu katika maendeleo ya raga nchini, hususan upande wa wanawake. Uongozi wake, hekima yake na mapenzi yake kwa mchezo huu viligusa maisha ya wengi na kuacha alama isiyofutika katika jamii ya raga.

Kupitia kipindi chake k**a kocha wa Kenya Lionesses, alitoa mchango mkubwa uliosaidia kukuza na kuimarisha hadhi ya timu hiyo kitaifa na kimataifa.

South Coast Pirates inaungana na familia ya raga kote nchini katika kipindi hiki kigumu cha maombolezo. Tunatoa pole zetu za dhati kwa familia, jamaa na marafiki wa marehemu.

REMINDER: 🏴‍☠️ South Coast Pirates RFC Notice

The club will convene a Special Meeting (SM) on Thursday, 7th May 2026, during which elections for new officials will be conducted.

Positions open for election:

Chairman

Vice Chairman

Treasurer

Secretary

Current office holders are eligible to seek re-election.

All roles are voluntary and require a commitment to attend monthly meetings while actively contributing to the club’s growth, vision, and overall development.
