Inside 111 State FC: The rise of a community team from Ngong.
Community football continues to shape the future of the game in Kenya, and 111 State FC from Ngong is one of the teams proving that passion and determination can keep the dream alive. Currently sitting fourth in the Nairobi West County League, the club is steadily building its identity both on and off the pitch.
In an exclusive one-on-one interview, the team’s manager Sammy Maliachi shares insights about the club’s journey and vision. Maliachi comes from a well known football family, with relatives actively involved in Kenyan football, including Evans Maliachi of Nzoia Sugar, Victor Maliachi of Soy United, and Kevin Maliachi of Talanta.
As a community based team, he calls upon stakeholders and well wishers to support the club and help nurture young talent in Ngong and beyond.
Team captain Tesloach Deng also opens up about the challenges the team has faced along the way, from limited resources to the daily struggles of grassroots football. Despite the obstacles, the players remain committed to representing their community with pride.
