The 3rd Confederation of African Cycling - < CAC > Para-Track African Championships concluded on 11 May at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Velodrome in Abuja, Nigeria.
Visually impaired Kenyan cyclist Felistus Kaveva delivered a strong performance in the B category, winning 3 silver medals in the pursuit, sprint, and time trial events.
She was narrowly edged out by Nigeria’s Favour Omo Ojiaebu across all three races.
Ann Nekesa, alongside sight guide Julia Miringu, secured two bronze medals in the Women’s Individual Pursuit B and Tandem Sprint B events before adding another silver to cap a strong campaign for Team Kenya.
Team Nigeria 🇳🇬 topped the medal standings with 16 medals (9 gold, 5 silver, 2 bronze), followed by Egypt 🇪🇬 in second with 14 medals, while Kenya 🇰🇪 finished third overall with 9 medals.
The championships also served as a qualification and ranking event for both the Commonwealth Games and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, adding major stakes to every performance in Abuja.
